Menhaniam is a village in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India.^[1]

Kozhikode District or Calicut district is a district of Kerala state, on the southwest coast of India. The city of Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is the district headquarters. The district is 38.25% urbanised.

Kerala is a state on the southwestern, Malabar Coast of India. It was formed on 1 November 1956, following passage of the States Reorganisation Act, by combining Malayalam-speaking regions. Spread over 38,863 km² (15,005 sq mi), Kerala is the twenty-second largest Indian state by area. It is bordered by Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Lakshadweep Sea and Arabian Sea to the west. With 33,387,677 inhabitants as per the 2011 Census, Kerala is the thirteenth-largest Indian state by population. It is divided into 14 districts with the capital being Thiruvananthapuram. Malayalam is the most widely spoken language and is also the official language of the state.

As of 2001^[update] India census, Menhaniam had a population of 15238 with 7436 males and 7802 females.^[1]

A census is the procedure of systematically acquiring and recording information about the members of a given population. The United Nations defines the essential features of population and housing censuses as "individual enumeration, universality within a defined territory, simultaneity and defined periodicity", and recommends that population censuses be taken at least every 10 years. Transportation

Menhaniam village connects to other parts of India through Koyilandy town. The nearest airports are at Kannur and Kozhikode. The nearest railway station is at Koyiandy. The national highway no.66 passes through Koyilandy and the northern stretch connects to Mangalore, Goa and Mumbai. The southern stretch connects to Cochin and Trivandrum. The eastern National Highway No.54 going through Kuttiady connects to Mananthavady, Mysore and Bangalore.

Koyilandy is a municipality in the taluk of the same name in Kozhikode district, Kerala on the Malabar Coast. The town is located between Kozhikode (Calicut) and Vadakara (Badagara) on National Highway 66. Koyilandy Assembly Constituency is part of Vadakara Lok Sabha Constituency.

Mangalore, officially known as Mangaluru, is the chief port city of the Indian state of Karnataka.
