Minister of Finance (Finland)

The Minister of Finance (Finnish : valtiovarainministeri, Swedish : finansminister) is one of the Finnish Government's ministers. The Minister of Finance is responsible for maintaining Finland's fiscal policies and oversees the Ministry of Finance. [1] The Orpo Cabinet's incumbent Minister of Finance is Riikka Purra. [2]

Juha Petri Sipilä is a Finnish politician who served as Prime Minister of Finland from 2015 to 2019. A relative newcomer to politics, he has a successful background in business. He was the leader of the Centre Party from 2012 to 2019. After leading the Centre party to victory in the 2015 general election, Sipilä formed a centre-right coalition and was appointed prime minister by the Finnish Parliament on 29 May 2015. On 8 March 2019, Sipilä stated his intention to resign as prime minister, citing difficulties in reforming Finland's health care system. President Sauli Niinistö asked him to continue with a caretaker government until a new government coalition was appointed on 6 June 2019 and was ultimately succeeded by Antti Rinne.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Antti Kaikkonen</span> Finnish politician

Antti Samuli Kaikkonen is a Finnish politician who has served as chair of the Centre Party since June 2024. He has been a member of the Finnish Parliament from Uusimaa since 2003. He served as Minister of Defence from 2019 to 2023. Kaikkonen was the president of Finnish Centre Youth from 1997 to 2001. He has also been a member of Finnish Delegation to the Council of Europe since 2004.

The Minister of Local Government and Ownership Steering is one of the Finnish Government's 19 ministerial portfolios. Administratively, the portfolio is located within the Ministry of Finance. The ministerial position is responsible for Finland's municipal and regional government operations, the public sector's ICT, the financial control of government assets, and the Ministry of Finance's statistical functions.

Parliamentary elections were held in Finland on 2 April 2023 to elect members of the Parliament of Finland.

In the run-up to the 2023 Finnish parliamentary election, various organisations carried out opinion polling to gauge voting intentions in Finland. Results of such polls are displayed in this list.

The cabinet of Sanna Marin was the 76th government of Finland. It was formed following the collapse of the Rinne Cabinet and officially took office on 10 December 2019. The cabinet headed by Sanna Marin consists of a coalition formed by the Social Democratic Party, the Centre Party, the Green League, the Left Alliance, and the Swedish People's Party.

Anna-Kaisa Ikonen is a Finnish politician currently serving in the Parliament of Finland representing the National Coalition Party from the Pirkanmaa constituency. She served as the mayor of Tampere between 2013 and 2017 and won the city council election in 2021.
