American rock band Linkin Park have released eight studio albums, three live albums, four compilation albums, two remix albums, three soundtrack albums, 4 video albums, 12 extended plays, 39 singles, 20 promotional singles, and 70 music videos. Linkin Park was formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996 by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson (guitar), and Rob Bourdon (drums). Joe Hahn (turntables) and Dave Farrell (bass) were later recruited, and in 1999, Chester Bennington became a member, staying with the band until his death in 2017. Before Bennington joined the band, Mark Wakefield was their lead singer, The lack of success and stalemate in progress prompted Wakefield to leave the band in search of other projects.

Formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1995, Slipknot originally featured vocalist and percussionist Anders Colsefni, guitarists Donnie Steele and Josh "Gnar" Brainard, bassist Paul Gray, drummer Joey Jordison, and percussionist and backing vocalist Shawn "Clown" Crahan. The original lineup released its first album Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. in 1996, before undergoing a number of lineup changes over the next few years.

Weezer's self-titled debut studio album, often referred to as The Blue Album, was released in May 1994 through DGC Records. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number 16 on the US Billboard 200 and spawning the singles "Undone – The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly", both of which were responsible for launching Weezer into mainstream success with the aid of music videos directed by Spike Jonze. Following the success of their debut album, Weezer took a break from touring for the Christmas holidays. Lead singer Rivers Cuomo began piecing together demo material for Weezer's second studio album. Cuomo's original concept for the album was a space-themed rock opera, Songs from the Black Hole. Ultimately, the Songs from the Black Hole album concept was dropped; the band, however, continued to utilize songs from these sessions into work for their second studio album. Pinkerton was released as the band's second studio album in September 1996. Peaking at number 19 on the Billboard 200, it was considered a critical and commercial failure at the time of its release, selling far less than its triple platinum predecessor. However, in the years following its release, it has seen much critical and commercial championing.

Formed in Sheffield in 2004 by vocalist Oliver Sykes, guitarists Lee Malia and Curtis Ward, bassist Matt Kean and drummer Matt Nicholls, the band released their debut EP This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For on Thirty Days of Nights Records in 2005, which reached number 41 on the UK Budget Albums Chart. After signing with British independent record label Visible Noise, the group released their debut full-length studio album Count Your Blessings in 2006, which reached the top 100 of the UK Albums Chart and the top 10 of the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. The 2008 follow-up Suicide Season reached the UK top 50 and charted in the US for the first time when it reached number 107 on the Billboard 200. In November 2009, an expanded version of the album titled Suicide Season Cut Up! was released, featuring remixes and videos.

Lo started her career as the lead singer and songwriter in math rock band Tremblebee from 2006 until 2009. In 2011, she signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music, and started recording songs. She self-released "Love Ballad" as her debut single in October 2012. The next year, Lo released "Habits", which received positive feedback from music blogs and led her to sign a record deal with Universal Music Group. Lo's first EP, Truth Serum, was released under the label on 3 March 2014, and entered the top 20 in Norway and Sweden. Three singles were released from the EP, including a remixed version of "Habits" by production duo Hippie Sabotage, re-titled as "Stay High". The track peaked at number 13 in Sweden and reached the top ten of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

According to Recording Industry Association of America, Doja Cat has sold 34 million certified albums and singles in the United States as a lead artist. Doja Cat self-released her debut single, "So High", before releasing her debut extended play (EP), Purrr! (2014). Following the release of Amala (2018) and a viral success of the song "Mooo!" in August of that same year, all of these songs such as "Candy", "Tia Tamera", and "Juicy" became sleeper hits, prompting Doja Cat to release the deluxe edition of Amala in early 2019. Capitalizing on her growing popularity, her second studio album, Hot Pink (2019), ultimately charted in the top ten on the US Billboard 200; as well as the top 20 of countries such as Australia, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands and New Zealand. Casey Thai Luong, known professionally as Keshi, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his songs "Like I Need U", "Limbo", and "Drunk". He released albums in 2022 and 2024: Gabriel and Requiem, respectively. Prior to that, he had released four EPs.
Laurel Hell is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mitski, released on February 4, 2022, through Dead Oceans. Patrick Hyland produced the album, which has been characterized as a record blending synth-pop, indie pop and electronic rock styles. According to Mitski, the album title is a folk term for being trapped in thickets of laurel that grow in the southern Appalachian Mountains.
