Monarchy were a British-based Australian electronic music duo consisting of Andrew Armstrong (also known as Andrew "Friendly" Kornweibel; producer, DJ) and Ra Black (also known as Ra Khahn; vocals, lyrics). [2] [3] [4] Based in London, [5] the duo was previously known as Milke. [3] [4] They have released four studio albums and two extended plays.
In November 2009, Monarchy was featured as "Band of the Day" on The Guardian website. [6] Monarchy's debut single "Gold in the Fire" was released on 1 February 2010 on Neon Gold Records, containing the B-side "Black, the Colour of My Heart". [7] They have created remixes for Ellie Goulding, Kelis, Lady Gaga, Marina and the Diamonds, Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Fyfe Dangerfield. [3] [4]
Their first live show was broadcast into space from Cape Canaveral, Florida, in June 2010, making them the first band ever to perform live into space. [1] [8] They have since performed at various London and UK venues including XOYO and HMV Forum, and festivals including The Big Chill, Popaganda in Sweden, Bestival, Eurosonic Festival in the Netherlands, Midem in Cannes, as well as Paris, Dijon, Rouen, Amsterdam, and across Europe. In 2011 they performed at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Hay Festival and Melt! festival, amongst others. Monarchy played the Together Winter Music Festival in London at the Alexandra Palace on 26 November 2011.
After signing to Mercury Records in February 2010, [9] Monarchy was set to release their self-titled debut album that August. [10] [11] However, the duo were dropped by Mercury a few months later, and the album's release was cancelled. [1] [11] Their debut album was ultimately released on 11 July 2011 by independent label 100% Records under a new title, Around the Sun, with a slightly different track listing. [11] [12] The Guardian gave the album three out of five stars and stated that "[t]he lyrics are often arrant nonsense [...] but there are many pleasures here." [1] NME rated the album five out of 10, comparing Monarchy to Hurts, The Sound of Arrows and Steps. [13] Popjustice placed Around the Sun at number fourteen on its list of the best albums of 2011. [14] Their song "The Phoenix Alive" was featured in EA Sports game, FIFA 12 with remix of Kris Menace.
Monarchy's single "Disintegration" was released digitally on 14 January 2013 and features Neo-Burlesque performer Dita Von Teese, who also appears on the track's accompanying music video. [15] The duo released the single "Living Without You" on 28 April 2014. [16] Their extended play Almost Human, was officially released on 8 September 2014, [17] after premiering exclusively on Vibe 's website on 15 August. [18] Monarchy's second studio album, Abnocto, was released on 6 March 2015 by Hacan Sounds. [19] It was preceded by the single "Dancing in the Corner" on 19 January 2015. [20]
On 27 April 2015, Armstrong announced the split of Monarchy. On 1 June, he announced that the duo had reconciled and would continue touring and creating new music. [21]
Monarchy collaborated with electronic artist Karma Fields on the track "Faint Echoes", taken from the album New Age | Dark Age, released on 2 March 2016. [22]
On 6 August 2021 the band announced they would be splitting once again. This was accompanied by the release of the bands latest album SYZYGY. [23]

Angelspit is an Australian electronic music band originally from Sydney and currently based in Chicago. The band was formed in 2004 by vocalists/synthesists Destroyx and ZooG. The band's music combines stylistic elements of horror, punk, pop and electronic music. Their work contains imagery revolving around medical experiments and grotesque societies. Angelspit has toured with Angel Theory, Ayria, Ikon, KMFDM, Tankt and The Crüxshadows, and have also shared the stage with bands such as The Sisters of Mercy, Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy and Front Line Assembly. The song was produced by Antonina Armato and Tim James who wrote the song with Devrim Karaoglu. Musically, "Naturally" is an uptempo dance-pop song which relies on electro-pop in the style of hi-NRG. The song's lyrics speak of a relationship in which feelings are not forced and the protagonist sings of their happiness. The song was released on December 11, 2009 and officially impacted US mainstream radio on January 19, 2010, and was released physically in numerous European countries thereafter. The song also appears on the international standard edition of the band's second album, A Year Without Rain (2010).

The Sound of Arrows are a Swedish electronic music duo originally from Gävle, and now based in Stockholm. The duo, consisting of Oskar Gullstrand and Stefan Storm, have remixed tracks for artists such as Lady Gaga, Alphabeat, The Naked and Famous, Natalia Kills and Nicole Scherzinger. They also produced the song "Shoot the Bullet" for electropop artist Queen of Hearts.

"Popular" is an English language song written by Fredrik Kempe and performed by Swedish singer Eric Saade. It is the second single from Saade's second album Saade Vol. 1 and was the Swedish entry in Eurovision Song Contest 2011. English synth-pop duo Hurts have released five studio albums, one extended play, 23 singles, one promotional single and 23 music videos. Originally formed as the Daggers, the band eventually reformed and changed their name to Hurts prior to being signed to Major Label and RCA Records in July 2009.
English recording artist Olly Murs has released seven studio albums, twenty-five singles and twenty one music videos on recording labels Epic and Sony subsidiary Syco. Olly rose to prominence in the United Kingdom after being a contestant on The X Factor during its sixth series, ultimately finishing in second place on 12 December 2009. During his time on the show, Murs appeared on the number-one charity single "You Are Not Alone" alongside the other finalists. His debut single, "Please Don't Let Me Go" was released on 27 August 2010—where it became his second number-one single and first as a solo artist. The accompanying album, Olly Murs was released on 26 November, where it debuted at number two, and was preceded by the number four single "Thinking of Me" on 19 November. The singles "Heart on My Sleeve" and "Busy" were also released from the album on 27 March and 27 May 2011—peaking at number twenty and forty-five in the UK respectively.
"Young" is the debut solo single by British singer Tulisa from her debut album The Female Boss (2012). It was written by Pete Ibsen, Richard Rawson and Ali Tennant, while the production was handled by the former two. Upon discovering that the song was meant for another singer, Tulisa chose to record it herself. The track was originally titled "We Are Young" but was renamed to merely "Young" to avoid confusion with the 2012 Fun song of the same name. The dance-pop song is about making mistakes while being young. "Young" was initially slated for release on 6 May 2012. However, it was only issued on 27 April in Ireland and the United Kingdom by All Around the World and Island Records for digital download and streaming.
AlunaGeorge are an English electronic music duo from London, consisting of singer-songwriter Aluna Francis and producer George Reid. Since 2020, the duo has been on indefinite hiatus, allowing both members to pursue solo projects.
Dita Von Teese is the debut studio album by American entertainer Dita Von Teese. It was released on February 16, 2018, by Record Makers. The album charted in Belgium and France. A companion remix album, titled Dita Von Teese Remix, was released digitally on August 31, 2018.
