The Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LegCo) is the unicameral legislature of Hong Kong. It sits under China's "one country, two systems" constitutional arrangement, and is the power centre of Hong Kong's hybrid representative democracy, though popular representation in the legislature has diminished significantly in recent years, along with its political diversity.

Sonowal earlier served as the Assam state unit President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2016. He has also served as the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India, from 2014 to 2016 and the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development from 2014 to 2014 and the member of the Lok Sabha from Lakhimpur from 2014 to 2016 and from Dibrugarh from 2004 to 2009. He was also the member of the Asom Gana Parishad from 2001 to 2011.
Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) is an autonomous district council in the state of Meghalaya in India. It is seated at Tura and covers East Garo Hills district, West Garo Hills district, South Garo Hills district, North Garo Hills district and South West Garo Hills district; is one of the three Autonomous District Councils within Meghalaya, and one of twenty-five autonomous regions of India. The total area of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council is 10,102 sq km having a population of 1,394,362 as of 2011.

The Assam Lokayukta is the Parliamentary Ombudsman for the state of Assam (India). It is a high level statutory functionary, created to address grievances of the public against ministers, legislators, administration and public servants in issues related to misuse of power, mal-administration and corruption. It was first formed under the Assam Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta Act, and approved by the president of India on 2011. The passage of Lokpal and Lokayukta's Act, 2013 in Parliament had become law from January 16, 2014, and requires each state to appoint its Lokayukta within a year. A bench of Lokayukta should consist of judicial and non-judicial members. An Upa-Lokayukta is a deputy to Lokayukta and assists him in his work and acts in-charge Lokayukta in case the position fells vacant before time.
Bismita Gogoi is an Indian politician from the state of Assam who is currently general secretary of All India Mahila Congress in Assam. Gogoi was the member of Assam Legislative Assembly for Khumtai from 2011 to 2016 and culture minister of Assam from 2015 to 2016. She is a member of the Indian National Congress.
Rameswar Dhanowar was an Indian politician from the state of Assam. He was a Member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from the Indian National Congress for Digboi. He was made a minister in Hiteswar Saikia and Tarun Gogoi’s cabinet.
Gobinda Chandra Langthasa was an Indian politician from the state of Assam. He was a member of Assam Legislative Assembly for Haflong. He was also a cabinet minister in the first Tarun Gogoi cabinet, and Deputy Chief Minister of Assam under Hiteswar Saikia.
