Moran Autonomous Council is an autonomous council in the Indian state of Assam, for development and protection of ethnic Moran people. [2] It was formed in 2020. [3]
The Moran people are indigenous people living primarily in the Tinsukia district of Assam. [4] The Moran Autonomous Council Bill 2020 was tabled in Assam Legislative Assembly on 24 March 2020 and it was passed in September 2020 without any objection from the opposition parties. [3]
An elected Moran Autonomous Council will consist of 25 members of whom 22 of elected directly and three are nominated by the Governor. [5] In January 2021, the Assam State Government said it would appoint 25 interim members to the Moran Autonomous Council as elections to the autonomous council can't be done before the 2021 Assam Legislative Assembly election. [6] Dipon Moran is the Interim Chief Executive Member of the council. [7]

He was also the member of the Asom Gana Parishad from 2001 to 2011.
Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) is an autonomous district council in the state of Meghalaya in India. It is a high level statutory functionary, created to address grievances of the public against ministers, legislators, administration and public servants in issues related to misuse of power, mal-administration and corruption. It was first formed under the Assam Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta Act, and approved by the president of India on 2011. The passage of Lokpal and Lokayukta's Act, 2013 in Parliament had become law from January 16, 2014, and requires each state to appoint its Lokayukta within a year. An Upa-Lokayukta is a deputy to Lokayukta and assists him in his work and acts in-charge Lokayukta in case the position fells vacant before time.
