Nawada Railway Station [1] or Nawadah is a main railway station of Nawada in Nawada District, Bihar. Its code is NWD. It serves Nawada city. The station consists of 2 platforms. The platform is well sheltered. Although it is a category C station, it lacks many facilities like most good C class stations. [2] The station lies on Gaya–Kiul line of East Central Railway. [3] Its new building is currently under construction at just 500m away from old building in Kiul direction.

The station mainly consists of four platforms and acts as the main station in the city of Motihari, which is being developed under 'The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme' and to celebrate 150 years of Mahatama Gandhi. In February 2022, the Indian Railways had planned to set up a railway station Development Corporation (RSDC) that would work on improving the major railway stations, including Bapudham Motihari, by building and improving passenger amenities.[4] Under the development scheme, major development works are going on Bapudham Motihari. Separate air conditioned waiting lounge, free WiFi facility, IRCTC food court and many facilities are going to be available on Bapudham Motihari at the end of 2024. To enhance the security of this station, a metal detector and baggage handling system will be installed soon.

The Neora–Daniyawan–Bihar Sharif–Sheikhpura line is a proposed railway line connecting Neora on the Howrah–Delhi main line and Sheikhpura on the Gaya–Kiul line both in the Indian state of Bihar.This line will connect Neora on the Howrah–Delhi main line near Danapur, Jatdumri on Patna–Gaya line, Daniyawan on Fatuha–Tilaiya line, Bihar Sharif on Bakhtiyarpur–Tilaiya line and Sheikhpura on Gaya–Kiul line.

Sitamarhi-Jaynagar-Nirmali Via Sursand Railway Line is a proposed railway line in East Central Railway zone by Indian Railway. It was announced by Former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2007. He laid the foundation inauguration of this proposed railway line at Sursand on 5 January 2008. Its length is 188.9 km. Due to negligence of the government, this railway line has yet not completed in the past 16 years. In 2022, the member of parliament and BJP leader Ashok Kumar Yadav from the Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency wrote letter to the union minister of Indian Railway Aswani Vaishnav for the complition of the proposed railway as soon as possible. The union minister Ashwini Vaishnav has assured that the project will start soon. According to the railway ministry 345 acres of land is required for acquisition. There are some issues with the acquisition of the land. This railway line will connect two districts of Bihar from Sitamarhi to Nirmali (Madhubani) via Sursand and Jaynagar. It also connects border areas of Nepal near Sitamarhi and Madhubani districts of Bihar. The cost of the project was estimated Rs. 2,821 in 2007. But due to the delay in starting the project, the estimated cost of the project is around Rs. 10000 crores in 2022. The Indian union railway ministry has assured that the project will start soon.
