The Nepal Swimming Association(NSA) is the national governing body for aquatic sports in Nepal. Legally, it is a non-profit association registered under National Sports Council (Nepal) The federation holds elections for its office bearers every five years.The NSA currently oversees competition in the sports of swimming, masters swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, high diving, and water polo. It is affiliated to FINA, [1] and the Asia Swimming Federation (AASF). [2]

    World Aquatics, formerly known as FINA, is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competitions in water sports. It is one of several international federations which administer a given sport or discipline for both the IOC and the international community. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

    Water polo at the 1980 Summer Olympics as usual was a part of the swimming sport, other two parts were swimming and diving. They were not three separate sports, because they all were governed by one federation — FINA. Water Polo discipline consisted of one event: men's team. In the preliminary round 12 teams were divided into three groups. Two best teams from each group advanced to Group A of the final round to determine places 1 through 6. The rest of teams played in Group B of the final round to determine places 7 through 12.

    United States Aquatic Sports (USAS) is the national federation for aquatic sports which represents the United States in FINA. Since by U.S. law and FINA regulations, the United States must have only one national federation for itself to FINA, United States Aquatic Sports has served as the unifying body for the sports since 1980. Five separate national governing bodies (NGBs) make up USAS: USA Swimming, USA Diving, United States Synchronized Swimming, USA Water Polo, and U.S. Masters Swimming. Of the five, only U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) is not a member of the United States Olympic Committee.

    The Swedish Swimming Federation is the national federation for Aquatics in body of Swimming in Sweden, as well as the other Aquatics sports: diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and open water swimming. It was founded on 23 March 1904 and is a member of LEN and FINA.

    The Chinese Swimming Association is the national federation which oversees aquatic sports in China. It is a national non-governmental, nonprofit sports organization which oversees competition in swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo, and open water swimming.

    The Japan Swimming Federation, is the national federation for Aquatics in Japan. It oversees Japan's Swimming, Diving, Water Polo and Synchronized Swimming competitive programs. It was founded on October 31, 1924. It is affiliated to FINA, the Asia Swimming Federation, the Japanese Olympic Committee and the Japan Amateur Sports Association.

    Asia Aquatics, formerly Asia Swimming Federation (AASF), oversees international aquatics competitions in Asia, and is affiliated to the Olympic Council of Asia and to World Aquatics. It was founded in 1978 in Bangkok; and currently has its administrative headquarters in Muscat, Oman.

    The India men's national water polo team is the representative for India in international men's water polo. Water Polo in India is administered by the Swimming Federation of India (SFI). India's men's best performance was when they won gold at the 1951 Asian Games. The India men's national water polo team also won a silver medal at the 1970 Asian Games, losing to Japan, 4 goals to 3 in the finals. The next time India won a medal was a bronze at the 1982 Asian Games.

    The French Swimming Federation is the French water sports association. Founded in February 1919, it grouped the sports swimming clubs, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, diving and French water polo, which organizes the national competitions and the selection of French teams. In 2017, the Federation had 316,905 members. The FFN is a member of the European Swimming League (LEN) and the International Swimming Federation (Fina). Since April 2017, the FFN is chaired by Gilles Sezionale.

    The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation founded in 1920, is the aquatics national federation for Spain. It oversees competition in the 5 aquatics disciplines and Masters competition in these. As of 2023, the federation has 790 registered clubs and 66,766 federated swimmers.

    Royal Moroccan Swimming Federation (French: Royale Marocaine de Natation) (FRMN) is the national federation which oversees aquatic sports in Morocco. FRMN oversees competition within Morocco in swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and open water swimming. It was founded in 1956 and is currently based in Casablanca, Morocco.

    The Turkish Swimming Federation is the governing body of the five aquatic sports, namely swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and open water swimming in Turkey. It was founded in 1957. The Turkish organization is member of the European Swimming League (LEN), the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and Turkish Olympic Committee. The TYF is based in Ankara and its current chairman is Associate Erkan Yalçın.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 World Aquatics Championships</span> 20th World Aquatics Championships

    The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, the 20th edition of the World Aquatics Championships, were held in Fukuoka, Japan, from 14 to 30 July 2023. Originally scheduled to be held in 2021 as the 19th championships, the championships were postponed until May 2022 in response to the rescheduling of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was pushed back a second time to 2023 due to ongoing travel restrictions and safety measures in place in Japan. In its place, Budapest hosted the 19th Championships from 18 June to 3 July 2022, while the originally scheduled 2023 championships in Doha, Qatar, were moved to 2024.

    The Portuguese Swimming Federation (Portuguese: Federação Portuguesa de Natação is the national sports federation tasked with the development, promotion and international representation of swimming in Portugal. The federation overlooks several other sports including competition swimming, open water swimming, water polo, diving and synchronized swimming. The federation is based in Lisbon and Porto. It is a member of the Olympic Committee of Portugal, and represents roughly 11,000 members.

    Singapore Aquatics is the national governing body for competitive swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and open water swimming in Singapore. SAQ is also charged with selecting the Singapore Olympic Swimming team and any other teams that officially represent Singapore, as well as the overall organisation and operation of the sport within the country.

It is affiliated to FINA, and the Asia Swimming Federation (AASF).

    The 2022 World Aquatics Championships, the 19th edition of the FINA World Aquatics Championships, were held in Budapest, Hungary, from 17 June to 3 July 2022. These championships included five disciplines, with high diving not staged for this edition of the championships.
