History

New Colony was first settled in the late 1880s by people from South Carolina. The wife of J.T. Latham decided to name it New Colony since it was their new home. [2]

Geography

New Colony is located on Texas State Highway 59, 4 mi (6.4 km) northeast of Linden in east-central Cass County. [2]

Education

New Colony had its own school in the 1930s. [2] Today, the community is served by the Linden-Kildare Consolidated Independent School District.
