Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, abbreviated as ZAC Stadium or ZACS and previously known as Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium, is a cricket stadium located in the port city of Chattogram, in south-eastern Bangladesh. It became a Test cricket venue on 27 February 2006 when it hosted a Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It hosted two group matches of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. It has a seating capacity of around 20,000. The stadium was initially named after Zahur Ahmad Chowdhury on 17 June 2001 by the Bangladesh Awami League government. It was renamed after Ruhul Amin by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party government in October 2001. It was returned to its original name in 2009 of Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium after Bangladesh Awami League returned to power.

New Zealand cricket team toured Bangladesh from 14 October to 7 November 2004. They played two Test matches and three One Day Internationals against Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh national cricket team toured Pakistan in 2003 to play three Test and five One Day International (ODI) matches. This was Bangladesh's second tour to Pakistan, with the first occurring in 2001–02, when the teams played one Test match. This series was the first international Test cricket series to be held in Pakistan after a 15-month absence due to security concerns. Pakistan announced their squad and included 7 new players without any previous Test cricket experience, after many senior players, such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Saeed Anwar) retired after 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The South Africa national cricket team toured Bangladesh for two Test matches and three One Day Internationals in February and March 2008. For South Africa, it represented the first tour after the retirement of bowler Shaun Pollock while Bangladesh were looking to rebuild after heavy defeats against New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Sohag Gazi is a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He made his Test debut in first test during West Indies's tour of Bangladesh in 2012, taking six wickets in the second innings. He is the first and so far, only man to score a century and take a hat-trick in the same Test match and the first man to do it twice in first-class matches.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Bangladesh from 26 October to 1 December 2014. The tour consisted of three Test matches and five One Day International matches. Bangladesh won the Test series 3–0 and the ODI series 5–0.

The South African cricket team toured Bangladesh for a two-match International Twenty20 (T20I) series, a three-match One Day International (ODI) series and two Test matches against the Bangladesh national team from 3 July to 3 August 2015.

The Bangladeshi cricket team toured New Zealand from December 2016 to January 2017 to play two Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20Is). New Zealand won both the ODI and T20I series 3–0 and won the Test series 2–0.

The 2016–17 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was the fourth edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh between April and June 2017. The tournament started on 12 April 2017 with player transfers beginning on 17 March 2017. Abahani Limited were the defending champions.

The 2018–19 National Cricket League was the twentieth edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 1 October 2018, with eight teams placed into two tiers. Khulna Division were the defending champions.

The 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was an edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was the fifth edition of the tournament with List A status, although almost 35 seasons had been played before achieving the status. It started on 5 February 2018 and finished on 5 April 2018. Gazi Group Cricketers were the defending champions. Abahani Limited won the tournament, after beating Legends of Rupganj by 94 runs in the final Super League fixture.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured New Zealand in February and March 2019 to play three Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The ODI fixtures were part of both teams' preparation for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. The tour ended early, with the cancellation of the third and final Test match, following the Christchurch mosque shootings.

The New Zealand cricket team toured Sri Lanka in August and September 2019 to play two Test and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series formed a part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. The fixtures for the tour were confirmed in July 2019. Originally, the first two T20I matches were scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, but were moved to the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

The 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was an edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was the sixth edition of the tournament with List A status, although almost 35 seasons have been played before achieving the status. It started on 8 March, and concluded on 23 April 2019. Directly before the List A tournament started, the inaugural edition of the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League took place, featuring the same twelve teams.

The 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League was the first edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League, a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It started on 25 February 2019 and concluded on 4 March 2019. The tournament took place directly before the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, and features the same twelve teams. The final of the competition was played as a night game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2020–21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup</span> Cricket tournament

The 2020–21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup was a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was played by five teams, during November and December 2020. In November 2020, more than 100 players began to undertake fitness tests, ahead of a players' draft for the tournament. The players' draft took place on 12 November 2020, with the tournament starting in the third week of November. Two days later, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the full schedule for the tournament.

The Australia cricket team toured Bangladesh in August 2021 to play five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The matches were used as preparation ahead of the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Cricket Australia planned for the series to take place following their tour of the West Indies. It was the first bilateral T20I series between the two teams, and Australia's first tour of Bangladesh since 2017.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League</span> Cricket tournament

The 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League was the second edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League, a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament replaced the 2019–20 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and featured the same twelve teams playing in the Twenty20 format instead of the List A format.

The New Zealand men's cricket team toured Bangladesh in September 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. The International Cricket Council (ICC) finalized the bilateral series in a press release. The matches were used as preparation for both teams ahead of the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
