Contents

The club is led by veteran Indian coach and former international Biswajit Bhattacharya, who has previously managed Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

History

North Bengal United was established to tap into the massive football fanbase in Siliguri and the surrounding Himalayan foothills. The club's identity was unveiled in July 2025 as part of the Bengal Super League's mission to bridge the gap between district talent and national-level professional football. [1]

In their inaugural 2025–26 campaign, North Bengal United established themselves as a competitive force. Although they lost their opening match 1–3 to JHR Royal City on 14 December 2025, they bounced back with consecutive victories. They defeated Kopa Tigers Birbhum 2–1 on 17 December and secured a dominant 2–0 win over Burdwan Blasters on 20 December. [2]

Stadium

The club plays its home matches at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri, which is the largest venue in the league with a capacity of 40,000. Known for its passionate atmosphere, the stadium serves as a fortress for the team during their North Bengal derbies. [3]

Players

The squad features a blend of local Siliguri talent and foreign reinforcements, most notably Ghanaian striker Ebenezer Amoh and defender Abdul Samed Ango. [4]
