The Uttarbanga Cup is an Indian Football Association tournament organised in North Bengal Region to scout talent from different parts of West Bengal. [1]

This tournament started on 27 February 2021. Uttarbanga Cup is an initiative to develop football and scout young, talented football players in North Bengal region. [2] [3] [4]

The Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CC&FC) is a multisports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was founded in 1792 as a cricket institution, adding the football and rugby sections when it merged with Calcutta FC in 1965.

Subhash Bhowmick was an Indian football player and manager. During his playing career, he represented the "Big Two" of Kolkata football, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. He also represented India in various international tournaments between 1970 and 1985. He was popularly known as Bhombol in the football arena of the West Bengal.

Before the starting of the first national club league, the National Football League in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic honour in India. Many players who have represented India internationally, played and gained honour while playing in the Santosh Trophy. The tournament is held every year with 37 teams, who are divided into five zones, must play in the qualifying round and progress into the tournament proper. The current champions are Kerala, who won their seventh title during the 2021–2022 edition.

In January 2020, the owners of a Kolkata based Indian Super League club ATK merged their brand with the football department of Mohun Bagan to become ATK Mohun Bagan. The rivalry between these two teams is almost 100 years old, and the matches witnessed large audience attendance and rivalry between patrons.
