Ojocaliente (population c. 150,000) is a medium-sized town in the southeastern part of the Mexican state of Zacatecas. The town was founded in 1620; its first name was "Real Villa de Sacramento y Ojocaliente Mina de Bastidas." The name of Ojocaliente (literally "hot eye") derives from its hot springs ("ojo" meaning pond or pool) and mineral veins that were exploited in the hills of Santiago.
The center of town is cut in half by the Pan American Highway # 45 Mexico - Ciudad Juarez. It has an airport 55 km to the north.
Ojocaliente is a producer of beans, maize, barley, prickly pears, and potatoes; it also has grape groves and wine processing plants.
Ojocaliente has six primary schools and a high school, which is affiliated with the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas.
The town has a Catholic cathedral, eight Catholic chapels, and a Mormon chapel.
Ojocaliente sits at 2040 m above sea level. It has a land area of 685.775 km².

Zacatecas is a city and municipality in Mexico, and the capital and the largest city of the state of Zacatecas. Located in north-central Mexico, the city had its start as a Spanish mining camp in the mid-16th century. Native Americans had already known about the area's rich deposits of silver and other minerals. Due to the wealth that the mines provided, Zacatecas quickly became one of the most important cities in New Spain, with much of its silver enriching the Spanish crown. The area saw battles during the turbulent 19th century, but the next major event was the Battle of Zacatecas during the Mexican Revolution when Francisco Villa captured the town, an event still celebrated every anniversary. Today, the colonial part of the city is a World Heritage Site, due to the Baroque and other structures built during its mining days. Mining still remains an important industry. The name Zacatecas is derived from the Zacateco people and has its roots in Nahuatl. The name means "people of the grasslands".

Yahualica is a town and municipality in the northeastern part of Jalisco, Mexico. It is one of the 125 municipalities that make up the state of Jalisco.
Loreto is a town and municipality in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. The town is the seventh-largest community in the state, with a 2005 census population of 22,085 inhabitants, while the municipality of which it serves as municipal seat had a population of 43,411. Nochistlán is a city in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán, on December 3, 1531, hired Cristóbal de Oñate to establish a village in Nochistlán; the village would be named Guadalajara to honor Guzmán for having been born in Guadalajara. Guadalajara was founded in Nochistlán on January 5, having as officials Cristóbal de Oñate, Sancho Ortiz de Zúñiga and Miguel Ibarra. They worked at this project for only 16 months and created the first layout of Guadalajara.
Unión de San Antonio is a town and municipality located in the Mexican state of Jalisco. It is named after Saint Anthony of Padua since the first church built there was in his honor. As of 2005, the municipality had a population of 15,484. It is located about 32 km (20 mi) west of León, Guanajuato. Jerez is a town and municipality in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. To distinguish the two, the town is officially called Jerez de García Salinas to honor a 19th-century reformer. Tayahua is a small provincial town in the central Mexican state of Zacatecas. The town has less than 12,000 inhabitants. Tayahua is a municipality of the city Villanueva. It is located West of Villanueva and East of the City Tabasco. This town was once inhabited by the famous actor/singer Antonio Aguilar before he built his own ranch "El Soyate" approximately 30 km (19 mi) east of Tayahua off the main highway road. Antonio Aguilar and family once lived in La Hacienda by the Catholic Church in Tayahua.
Benito Juárez Municipality is a Mexican municipality located in the southern extreme of the state of Zacatecas on the edge of the Canyon of Tlaltenango.
Calera is one of the 58 municipalities in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. Chalchihuites is a municipality in the Mexican state of Zacatecas in northwest Mexico. The archaeological site of Altavista, at Chalchihuites, is located 137 miles to the northwest of the city of Zacatecas and 102 miles southeast of the city of Durango. Located to the west of Sombrerete in the northwestern corner of the Zacatecas state, it is believed that the site was a cultural oasis that was occupied more or less continuously from AD 100 to AD 1400.
