"Orange County Suite" is a song by the American rock band The Doors that first officially appeared on their 1997 boxed set The Doors: Box Set .
"Orange County Suite" was written during one of Jim Morrison's poetry sessions in February 1969. [1] It was written about Morrison's wife Pamela Courson. [2]
Jim Morrison recorded the song as a piano demo in 1971, [3] but it was never released until 1997 when the surviving members of the band overdubbed more instruments for release on The Doors: Box Set . [4]
"Orange County Suite" was originally intended to be released on L.A. Woman , but John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek rejected it from being put on the album due to it being "a total bummer". [5] It has also been included on the box sets Perception [6] and The Complete Studio Recordings . [7]
