The Warrant of Precedence for Pakistan is a protocol list at which government of Pakistan functions and officials are seated according to their rank and office. Revised Warrant of Precedence of Pakistan is issued by Cabinet Secretariat, Cabinet Division vide letter No.7-2-2003-Min. I. Islamabad. It has been amended from time to time, the following Warrant of Precedence for Pakistan is published for general information.

Explanatory notes

  1. The entries in the above table, which are in alphabetical order in each article, apply exclusively to the persons entered therein, and while regulating their relative precedence with each other accordingly to the number of the article, do not give them any precedence over member of the non-official community resident in Pakistan, who shall take their place according to usage.
  2. Officers in the above table will take precedence in order of the numbers of entries. Those included in one number will take precedence inter-se according to date of entry into the number. When two or more officers enter an article on the same, their inter-se seniority will be fixed on the basis of length of class 1 service. Officers of the defense service will rank inter-se in accordance with their seniority.
  3. Officers of Law Enforcement Agencies when in uniform will salute senior officers of neighbouring Arm / Force / Law Enforcement Agency. They will also "SALUTE" National / State office holders (both elected and nominated) before each official meet. Rule for saluting will be governed by above stipulated precedence. Correspondingly, office holders / civilian officials will also greet senior officers of Law Enforcement Agencies considering their protocol.
  4. All persons not mentioned in the above table, who hold an ex-officio rank, will be placed in the same article as persons holding that rank.
  5. When an officer holds more than one position in the table he will be entitled to the highest position accorded to him.
  6. An officer on entering an article, by virtue of a change in his office to an article lower than that which was occupied by him immediately preceding this change, will take his seniority in the lower article with effect from the date of his entry into the higher article: provided that if he re-enters a lower article in which he was included earlier, he will take his seniority in that lower article from the original date of his entry into it.
  7. All ladies, unless by virtue of holding an appointment themselves, they are entitled to a higher position in the table, will take place according to the rank herein assigned to their husbands.
  8. All other persons who may not be determined in this table will take rank according to general usage, which is to be explained and determined by the president in case any question shall arise.
  9. Retired civil and military officers will be placed at the end of the articles in which they were included immediately before their retirement.
  10. Seniority of the officers will be determined with reference to the holding appointment mentioned in the article, irrespective of the grades which they possess.
  11. Order of protocol will be followed in the same manner for making phone calls through operators.

The United States order of precedence is an advisory document maintained by the Ceremonials Division of the Office of the Chief of Protocol of the United States which lists the ceremonial order, or relative preeminence, for domestic and foreign government officials at diplomatic, ceremonial, and social events within the United States and abroad. The list is used to mitigate miscommunication and embarrassment in diplomacy, and offer a distinct and concrete spectrum of preeminence for ceremonies. Often the document is used to advise diplomatic and ceremonial event planners on seating charts and order of introduction. Former presidents, vice presidents, first ladies, second ladies, and secretaries of state and retired Supreme Court justices are also included in the list.

The order of precedence in the United Kingdom is the sequential hierarchy for Peers of the Realm, officers of state, senior members of the clergy, holders of the various Orders of Chivalry, and is mostly determined, but not limited to, birth order, place in the line of succession, or distance from the reigning monarch. The order of precedence can also be applied to other persons in the three legal jurisdictions within the United Kingdom:

Esquire is usually a courtesy title. In the United Kingdom, esquire historically was a title of respect accorded to men of higher social rank, particularly members of the landed gentry above the rank of gentleman and below the rank of knight. The following is the order of precedence in England and Wales as of November 2024. Separate orders exist for men and women.

In the United States Navy, officers have various ranks. Equivalency between services is by pay grade. United States Navy commissioned officer ranks have two distinct sets of rank insignia: On dress uniform a series of stripes similar to Commonwealth naval ranks are worn; on service khaki, working uniforms, and special uniform situations, the rank insignia are identical to the equivalent rank in the US Marine Corps.

Diplomatic rank is a system of professional and social rank used in the world of diplomacy and international relations. A diplomat's rank determines many ceremonial details, such as the order of precedence at official processions, table seatings at state dinners, the person to whom diplomatic credentials should be presented, and the title by which the diplomat should be addressed.

United States military seniority is the method by which the United States Armed Forces determines precedence among commissioned officers, in particular those who hold the same rank. Seniority is used to determine assignments, tactical commands, promotions and general courtesy. The order of precedence is determined by the Protocol Regulations and the Table of Precedence of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. Unless otherwise noted, precedence among persons of equal rank is determined by seniority. As a general rule, spouses share the same rank.

A water bailiff is a law-enforcement officer responsible for the policing of bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes or the coast. The position has existed in many jurisdictions throughout history.

The Saskatchewan order of precedence is a nominal and symbolic hierarchy of important positions within the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It has no legal standing but is used to dictate ceremonial protocol at events of a provincial nature.

Precedence signifies the right to enjoy a prerogative of honor before other persons; for example, to have the most distinguished place in a procession, a ceremony, or an assembly, to have the right to express an opinion, cast a vote, or append a signature before others, to perform the most honorable offices.

The order of precedence is determined by the Federal Order of Precedence issued by the Prime Minister's Department. The latest one was issued on 13 November 2014. Unless otherwise noted, precedence among persons of equal rank is determined by seniority. As a general rule, spouses share the same rank with another and a person with two positions will take the highest one.

The Sabah order of precedence is a hierarchy of important positions within the state of Sabah, Malaysia. It has no legal standing but is used by ceremonial protocol. The order of precedence is determined by the State Order of Precedence issued by the Sabah Chief Minister's Department. The latest one was issued on 1 September 1996 with amendments entered into force on 3 October 2003. Unless otherwise noted, precedence among persons of equal rank is determined by seniority. As a general rule, spouses share the same rank with another and a person with two positions will take the highest one.

Immigration Enforcement (IE) is a law enforcement command within the Home Office, responsible for enforcing immigration law across the United Kingdom. The force was part of the now defunct UK Border Agency from its establishment in 2008 until Home Secretary Theresa May demerged it in March 2012 after severe criticism of the senior management. Immigration Enforcement was formed on 1 March 2012, becoming accountable directly to ministers.

Ireland has limited use of order of precedence.
