The Petronas Towers are the world's tallest twin skyscrapers and remained the tallest buildings in Malaysia until 2019, when they were surpassed by The Exchange 106. The Petronas Towers are a major landmark of Kuala Lumpur, along with the nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower and Merdeka 118, and are visible in many places across the city.
Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh bin Tengku Mohd Hamzah is a Malaysian politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gua Musang from August 1986 to November 2022 and for Ulu Kelantan from August 1974 to August 1986. He is the longest-serving MP by serving from 1974 to 2022 for 48 years. He is sometimes referred to as the Father of Malaysian Economic Development for playing a pivotal role in establishing and implementing key foundations and policies in Malaysian economy. A descendant of Malay royalty, he is a great-uncle of the current Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V.

Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Higher Education for the second term in Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota Tinggi since November 2022. He served as the 15th Menteri Besar of Johor from May 2013 to May 2018, Deputy Minister of Works, Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operatives Development and his first term as Minister of Higher Education in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak from 1999 to 2013, MP for Johor Bahru from October 1990 to March 2004 and for Pasir Gudang from March 2004 to May 2013, Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Permas from May 2013 to May 2018 and Chairman of Boustead Holdings from 2020 to his resignation in 2021. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has served as the Vice President of UMNO since June 2018 and State Chairman of UMNO of Johor since January 2023.
Tengku Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz is a Malaysian politician and investor who has served as Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since April 2023 and Senator from March 2020 to his resignation in November 2022 and again since December 2022. He served as Minister of International Trade and Industry in the PH administration under Prime Minister Anwar from December 2022 to April 2023, Minister of Finance for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to November 2022 and his first term from March 2020 to August 2021 as well as Coordinating Minister of the National Recovery Plan from July 2021 to August 2021 in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin. As he was not an elected Member of Parliament (MP), he was appointed as an independent Senator twice in March 2020 and again in December 2022, in order to assume his duties as the first technocratic Minister of Finance in March 2020 as he was also the first independent individual in terms of active political party association, to be appointed minister of finance in the Malaysian history. Prior to his political appointments, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director of the CIMB Group Holdings Berhad. He was also CEO and executive director of the CIMB Bank Berhad and president commissioner of the PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He has also served as the State Treasurer of BN of Selangor since July 2022, this appointment also marks the start of his involvement in active politics and State Treasurer of UMNO of Selangor since April 2023.

Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah has reigned as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia and the 6th Sultan of Pahang since January 2019.
