The Peugeot Type 181, also known at the time and normally advertised simply according to its fiscal horse power as the Peugeot 11HP, [1] was a mid-range car produced between 1925 and 1928 by the French auto-maker Peugeot at their Audincourt plant.
The Type 181 was first presented in October 1924 at the 19th Paris Motor Show as a new model for 1925. [1] Nearly 10,000 Type 181s were produced including, in 1928, Peugeot ‘s 100,000th automobile.
The car was closely related to the Peugeot Type 177, but came with a larger 1,615 cc side-valve four-cylinder engine, [1] driving the rear wheels and delivering a claimed 40 hp.
The standard 181 model featured a 2795 mm wheelbase, while the slightly longer 181 B had a 2865 mm wheelbase. The cars’ overall lengths were respectively 4000 mm and 4070 mm, with a track of 1260 mm.
Various bodies were available including a “Torpedo”, an “all-weather cabriolet” and a “Coupé limousine” offering space for five people.
Type 181 production continued until 1928, by when 9,259 had been produced.

1 These cars were marketed as "Lion-Peugeots", produced by what was till 1910 a separate Peugeot company, run by cousins of Armand Peugeot, then in charge of the principal automobile business. In 1910, Armand having no sons of his own, it was agreed that the two branches of the Peugeot business be reunited. |
Panhard was a French motor vehicle manufacturer that began as one of the first makers of automobiles. It was a manufacturer of light tactical and military vehicles. Its final incarnation, now owned by Renault Trucks Defense, was formed by the acquisition of Panhard by Auverland in 2005, and then by Renault in 2012. In 2018 Renault Trucks Defense, ACMAT and Panhard combined under a single brand, Arquus.
Unic was a French manufacturer founded in 1905, and active as an automobile producer until July 1938. After this the company continued to produce commercial vehicles, retaining its independence for a further fourteen years before being purchased in 1952 by Henri Pigozzi, who was keen to develop Unic as a commercial vehicle arm of the then flourishing Simca business.
Berliet was a French manufacturer of automobiles, buses, trucks and military vehicles among other vehicles based in Vénissieux, outside of Lyon, France. Founded in 1899, and apart from a five-year period from 1944 to 1949 when it was put into 'administration sequestre' it was in private ownership until 1967 when it then became part of Citroën, and subsequently acquired by Renault in 1974 and merged with Saviem into a new Renault Trucks company in 1978. The Berliet marque was phased out by 1980.
Delage is a French luxury automobile and racecar company founded in 1905 by Louis Delage in Levallois-Perret near Paris; it was acquired by Delahaye in 1935 and ceased operation in 1953.

The Peugeot Type 184 was a large car produced between 1928 and 1929 by the French auto-maker Peugeot at their Issy-les-Moulineaux plant. It represented an attempt to widen the range further upmarket, being larger than the Peugeot Type 174 which had itself been significantly upgraded in 1926. Its opulence was nevertheless out of touch with the market place at the time and the model was taken out of production, without a direct replacement, after less than two years.
The Peugeot Type 173 is a mid-range car produced between 1922 and 1925 by the French auto-maker Peugeot at their Beaulieu plant. It replaced the company's celebrated Type 163 which itself had done much to revive the company's fortunes in the difficult years directly following the First World War.
The Peugeot Type 14 is an early motor car produced between 1897 and 1898 by the French auto-maker Peugeot at their Audincourt plant. First presented in public at the end of 1896 the Type 14 was the first new car introduction after Armand Peugeot’s new company “Automobiles Peugeot” had been registered, following formalisation of Armand's split from the then principal Peugeot business.
Société des Automobiles Bellanger Frères was a French automobile manufacturer between 1912 and 1925. The cars were the brainchild of Robert Bellinger (1884-1966), who had previously sold Delaunay-Belleville vehicles.

The Renault Vivasport was a 6-cylinder engined executive automobile introduced by Renault in September 1933 and produced till April 1935. A larger engined version was produced between December 1934 and February 1938. As with many Renaults during the 1930s, type changes as well as small often cosmetic facelifts and upgrades appeared frequently.
