Pir Mikail (Persian : پيرميكاييل‎, also Romanized as Pīr Mīkā’īl; also known as Pīr Mekā’īl)^[1] is a village in the Kani Bazar Rural District, Khalifan District, Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. As of the 2006 census, its population was 111, in 17 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Kani Bazar Rural District or Gawerk District of Mahabad is a rural district (dehestan) in Khalifan District, Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 10,199, in 1,555 families. The rural district has 44 villages.

Khalifan District is a district (bakhsh) in Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 17,744, in 2,741 families. The District has no cities. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Kani Bazar Rural District and Mangur-e Sharqi Rural District.
