Qarah Dagh (Persian : قره داغ‎, also Romanized as Qarah Dāgh and Qareh Dāgh)^[1] is a village in Mokriyan-e Sharqi Rural District, in the Central District of Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 887, in 163 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Mokriyan-e Sharqi Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 12,831, in 2,418 families. The rural district has 20 villages.

The Central District of Mahabad County is a district (bakhsh) in Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 179,697, in 39,752 families.
