Description

Male Pristimantis paisa measure 20–24 mm (0.79–0.94 in) in snout–vent length and females 28–31 mm (1.1–1.2 in). Tympanum is not prominent. The fingers and the toes have discs and lateral keels but no webbing. Skin is smooth. Coloration is drab brown without well developed patterns. [3]

Habitat

Pristimantis paisa inhabits Andean cloud forests and paramo [4] at elevations of 1,800–3,100 m (5,900–10,200 ft) above sea level. [1] [4] It is a nocturnal species that requires high moisture. [1]

Pristimantis paisa is a quite common frog that is able to persist in secondary forest and wet pastureland. It can locally suffer from ranching and agriculture. It is not present in protected areas. [1]

Pristimantis prolixodiscus Species of frog

Pristimantis prolixodiscus is a species of frog in the family Craugastoridae. It is found in the northern Cordillera Oriental in Colombia and adjacent Táchira, Barinas, and Mérida states of Venezuela. Its natural habitats are cloud forests and sub-páramo bush land where it occurs in terrestrial bromeliads. It is an abundant species, and although it is facing some threat from deforestation for agricultural development, illegal crops, logging, and human settlement, these are unlikely to be serious threats, especially in the higher parts of its altitudinal range.

It is endemic to Colombia and known from the páramos of Cordillera Central along the Valle del Cauca–Tolima Department borderland north to the Quindío Department. Common name Las Hermosas robber frog has been coined for it. The specific name racemus is Latin and means "a bunch of berries", and refers to the warty skin of this species.

Pristimantis scopaeus is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Colombia and occurs in the Cordillera Central in the Tolima and Quindío Departments. Pristimantis scopaeus is a dwarf species: adult males in the type series were first mistaken for juveniles of Pristimantis simoteriscus, which itself already is a small species. The specific name scopaeus is Latinization of the Greek skopaios, meaning "dwarf".
