"Promise" is a song by Australian progressive rock band Voyager,released on 21 February 2023. [1] The song represented Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after the band was internally selected by the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS),Australia's broadcaster for the Eurovision Song Contest. [2] It was included on the band's eighth studio album, Fearless in Love . The song entered the charts in Australia,UK,Finland,Iceland,Lithuanian and Sweden.
At the APRA Music Awards of 2024,the song was shortlisted for Song of the Year. [3]
On 14 November 2022, the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) announced that it would internally select the Australian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, foregoing the Eurovision – Australia Decides selection show the broadcaster had organised since 2019. [4]
On 20 February 2023, SBS prepared a premiere for the official release of the song and the music video the following day, along with the artist reveal, which was later confirmed to be Voyager with "Promise". [5] [2]
According to Eurovision rules, all nations with the exceptions of the host country and the "Big Five" (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) are required to qualify from one of two semi-finals in order to compete for the final; the top ten countries from each semi-final progress to the final. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) split up the competing countries into six different pots based on voting patterns from previous contests, with countries with favourable voting histories put into the same pot. On 31 January 2023, an allocation draw was held, which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals, and determined which half of the show they would perform in. Australia was placed into the second semi-final, held on 11 May 2023, and performed in the second half of the show. [6] Australia won the second semi-final with 149 points, advancing to the grand final.

Senhit Zadik Zadik, known professionally as simply Senhit, is an Italian pop singer. She represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf with "Stand By", but failed to qualify for the final. She would have represented it again in 2020 with "Freaky!", but the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, she was chosen to represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Adrenalina", where she qualified to the final and placed 22nd with 50 points.
Voyager are an Australian progressive metal band from Perth, Western Australia, who were formed in 1999. The band has released eight albums. Their eighth studio album, Fearless in Love, was released worldwide on 14 July 2023 through French American metal record label Season of Mist. They represented Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Promise", finishing in ninth place.

The song was produced by Alex Papaconstantinou, Didrick and Victory, who also served as co-writers with Anderz Wrethov, Geraldo Sandell and Viktor Svensson. "Move" is a gospel-pop song by Swedish music group the Mamas. The song was performed for the first time in Melodifestivalen 2020, where it made it to the final. The song won Melodifestivalen with 137 points and was to represent Sweden in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, before the contest was cancelled in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It peaked at number one on the Swedish singles chart.

"Because of You" is a song by Belgian singer Gustaph, released as a single on 13 January 2023. The song represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after winning Eurosong 2023, Belgium's national final for that year's Eurovision Song Contest. At the contest in finished in 7th place at the final, with 182 points. It reached number two on the Belgium Singles Charts and was certified Platinum. Elsewhere it reached the charts in Australia, Lithuania, Sweden, Netherlands, and UK.
