Proserpio (Brianzöö: Presèrp) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Milan and about 13 kilometres (8 mi) east of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 942 and an area of 2.4 square kilometres (0.93 sq mi). [1] The name comes from the Roman goddess Proserpina.
