Qurqan (Persian : قورقان‎, also Romanized as Qūrqān; also known as Qorqān)^[1] is a village in Sokmanabad Rural District, Safayyeh District, Khoy County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 63, in 15 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Sokmanabad Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Safayyeh District, Khoy County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 13,012, in 2,525 families; excluding Zurabad, its population was 12,095, in 2,328 families. The rural district has 41 villages.

Safayyeh District is a district (bakhsh) in Khoy County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 20,172, in 3,798 families. The District has one city: Zurabad. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Aland Rural District and Sokmanabad Rural District.
