Rae Anderson (born 16 February 1997) is an Australian Paralympic athlete with cerebral palsy. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics and in alpine skiing at the 2022 Winter Paralympics. [1] [2] She became the seventh Australian Paralympic athlete to represent Australia at a Summer and Winter Paralympics. [3]
Anderson was born 16 February 1997 with cerebral palsy, left hemiplegia but it was not diagnosed until she was one. [4] [5] As a child she had three major operations at Westmead Children's Hospital. [5] She attended Terrigal High School on the Central Coast, New South Wales. [5] She has completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney. [4] In 2022, Anderson moved to Indonesia for six months to undertake a degree in cultural studies at the Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. In 2021, Anderson is the Project Coordinator for the Activate Inclusion Sports Days (AISD) and Start Up Kidz program for Disability Sports Australia. [6]
In her early teenage years, Anderson learnt to sail and played soccer, basketball and oz tag. [5] A meeting with Evan O'Hanlon led to her taking up athletics in 2010. [5] At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, she competed in the Women's Long Jump F37/38 and finished 7th with a jump of 3.67m(+0.9). [4] At the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, she competed in two throwing events and finished 7th in the Women's Discus F38 and 6th in the Women's Javelin F37. [4] In 2016 she became the first Australian woman with a disability to model for a lingerie company after becoming the face of underwear brand ModiBodi. [7] She competed in the 2016 Rio Paralympics, placing 5th in the F38 Shot put event and 8th in the F37 Discus event.
At the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London, England, she finished second in the Women's Javelin F37 with a throw of 24.98m but this event was a non-medal event. [8]
After the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London, Anderson transferred to skiing with the aim of competing at the 2022 Winter Paralympics. She is classified as LW9-1. [4] At the 2022 Winter Paralympics, Anderson finished seventh in the Women's Slalom Standing and tenth in the Women's Giant Slalom Standing. [9]
In 2022, Anderson became a member of the Paramatildas. She was awarded received the Rookie of the Year title in 2022. [10]
The 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships was held in Christchurch, New Zealand from January 21 to 30, 2011. Athletes with disabilities competed, and the Championships were a qualifying event for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Amanda Fraser is an Australian Paralympic athlete and swimmer. She has cerebral palsy and competes in the F37 category for the physically impaired. Competing in the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Summer Paralympics, she won two silver and two bronze medals, and in the 2006 World Championships, she won a gold and a silver medal. In the 2006 championships, she set a world record for discus in her classification, and was named 2006 Telstra Female AWD Athlete of the Year by Athletics Australia. Fraser now works as a personal trainer, working with people unfamiliar to a gym environment, especially women. She advocates for women empowerment and aims to help women develop their mental and physical strength.

She competed at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, where she won a bronze medal in the women's giant slalom visually impaired.
Brydee Moore is an Australian athlete with cerebral palsy that competes in the shot put, discus and javelin. She won a silver medal at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics.
Beverley Jones is a Paralympian from Wales competing in category F37 throwing events. Jones won a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games as an EAD in the 100m sprint. Jones has qualified for four Summer Paralympics from 2000 to 2012 finishing fourth twice, in the sprint in 2000 at Sydney and in the shot put at Athens in 2004.
Men's discus throw events for athletes with cerebral palsy were held at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in the Athens Olympic Stadium. Events were held in six disability classes, F32 being held jointly with F51 wheelchair athletes.
Guy Nicholas Henly is an Australian Paralympic athlete. He currently competes in discus and shot put and has won medals at the 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2023 World Para Athletics Championships. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
Jayden Sawyer is an Australian para athlete who competes mainly in the F38 category in throwing events. He won has won gold and bronze medals at the World Para Athletics Championships. He competed at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympics.
Svetlana Sergeeva in Kargopol, Arkhangelsk Oblast is a Paralympian athlete from Russia, competing mainly in category T37 throwing and sprint events. She competed in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China and the 2012 Games in London. At the London Games she won a track gold as part of the sprint relay and has also achieved success as an individual athlete at both World and European events.
Samoa competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 to 18 September 2016, sending two discus athletes, one male and one female. This was Samoa's fifth consecutive Paralympics, with their first Paralympics in 2000. Alefosio ‘Sio’ Laki finished 12th, setting a new personal record. Maggie Aiono finished the Paralympics in 11th place. As of the conclusion of these Paralympics, Samoa has not won a Paralympic medal.
