Reaching Out (1984) is the fourteenth studio album by the boy band Menudo, and their first in English.

Contents

It features Ricky Meléndez, Charlie Massó, Ray Reyes, Roy Rosselló, and new member Robby Rosa. Robby replaced Johnny Lozada after Johnny reached the group's age limit. The songs on this album are selections from their last four Spanish language albums translated into English, with the exception of “Like A Cannonball″. [1] This song was recorded for the soundtrack to the Burt Reynolds film Cannonball Run II . Robby Rosa is the lead vocalist on six of the ten songs, being the only member fluent in the English language at the time.

The album sold 425,000 copies in Brazil. [2] It peaked #108 on the Billboard 200, making it the band's first album to chart in the US. [3] The single "If You're Not Here" sold 270,000 in Brazil. [4]

He replaced Rene Farrait and quickly became a fan favorite with his participation on the albums of Por Amor and Una Aventura Llamada Menudo, which was the name of both Menudo's second movie and of the soundtrack album for it. Charlie recorded 14 albums with Menudo, two were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album in 1984 and 85.

El Reencuentro was the name that six ex-members of musical group Menudo used for their comeback project remembering Menudo's golden era. Ricky Melendez, Rene Farrait, Miguel Cancel, Johnny Lozada, Ray Reyes, and Charlie Masso re-joined to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their success in Latin America, North America, Spain and several other countries in the world. They started in 1998 as an experimental project and they had an unexpected success that continued until 2015 through North and Latin America.

In Brazil, the Portuguese version of the album was titled "Menudo", and was released 25 June 1986.

A Todo Rock is Menudo's thirteenth album in Spanish. It features Ricky Meléndez, Johnny Lozada, Charlie Massó, and new members Ray Reyes, who replaced Xavier Serbiá after Xavier reached the age limit and Roy Rosselló, who replaced Miguel Cancel after Miguel decided to quit the group. This was the first time that a member decided to leave before his time was due. According to an interview made in 1998, Miguel was unhappy that he was not able to sing his songs after a sudden voice change and opted to leave before his scheduled departure, thus being replaced by Roy. This is the last album that Johnny Lozada recorded as a member of the group. Robby Rosa, sang in this album but was not credited for it. He later would become part of Menudo. The album was the first Menudo's album to sell over 1 million copies worldwide.

Menudo is an album released by Menudo in 1985. This is the third time the group release a self-titled album, the first one was in 1981, which was also released under the title Fuego. The second one was Menudo's 17th album released in 1985, featuring Charlie Massó, Roy Rosselló, Robby Rosa, Ricky Martin, and new member Raymond Acevedo. Raymond replaced Ray Reyes after Ray had to be forced to leave the group because of the numerous fights and misunderstandings between his father and the group's manager. According to Ray's brother, Raul Reyes, his brother's departure was anticipated. This album contains seven brand new songs plus three songs from their Evolución album translated into English. It also features their only song to reach the Billboard Hot 100: "Hold Me," which peaked at No. 62. A music video was released for this single. One of the band's most successful albums, Menudo features two members who went on to become highly successful international stars as solo artists: Ricky Martin and Robi Rosa.

Evolución is Menudo's 16th album. This album features new member Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin replaced Ricky Meléndez, the last member to exit from the original line-up. Ricky Meléndez was nearing his 17th birthday when it was decided who was going to be his replacement. Ricky Martin wasn't their first choice. Ray's brother Raul Reyes was working the backup vocals and was considered to join the group, also Tico Santana was the name of a kid considered to join the group at that time, but for unknown reasons it was decided to give Ricky Martin the position. This is also the last album Ray Reyes recorded as a member of the group. It received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. Ricky Martin sings lead vocal on "Rayo De Luna", one of the group's most popular songs of the era.

Súbete a Mi Moto is a biographical streaming television series about the Latin boy band Menudo. The series narrates the history of the band from its creation to its evolution and international success. Menudo was the band that launched music stars such as Ricky Martin and others. Consisting of 15 episodes of 60 minutes each, the series premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 9, 2020, in Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. In the United States, the series premiered on Estrella TV on February 14, 2021.
