Reliance Foundation is an Indian non-profit organisation which was founded in 2010 by Mukesh Ambani. It is wholly owned by Reliance Industries Limited [2] and is one of the largest non-profit foundations in the country. [3]

Reliance Foundation was formerly known as Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation. [4] It was founded in 2010 by Mukesh Ambani, chairperson of Reliance Industries. [1]

Purpose and activities

The foundation's objective is to promote sustainable growth in India. [5] [6] It does so in the following spheres:

The foundation also works with other philanthropies and NGOs on collaborative initiatives, for example in 2012 partnering with the television show Satyamev Jayate to provide a grant to Muktangan Rehabilitation Centre in Mumbai to help street children. [19]

Ambani faced numerous accusations of market manipulation, tax evasion, and cronyism.

Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) is a program spearheaded by the Reliance Foundation, the non-profit and CSR arm of Reliance Industries. It focuses on promoting youth sports in India, particularly at the school and collegiate levels. Currently eight cities are participating in this initiative, with the long-term goal of creating a sports association similar to the NCAA in the United States. In 2015, Reliance Foundation also launched Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC), a program to develop football talent in India. The program is linked to the eight cities participating in the Indian Super League, and the respective teams conduct grassroots initiatives to support RFYC.

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is a performing arts and multi-disciplinary cultural and exhibition space located in the city of Mumbai, India, that opened on 31 March 2023. The center was founded by Nita Ambani, philanthropist and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, to "preserve and promote Indian arts." It is part of the Jio World Centre complex in the Bandra Kurla Complex of Mumbai.
