The Renault Kerax is a medium- and heavy-duty truck manufactured by Renault Trucks, aimed at the construction industry, and is available as a rigid body or tractor configuration. It was launched in 1997, and underwent a full upgrade in 2006. [1] Production of the Kerax ended in 2013, when it was replaced by the C and K range [2] which are powered by Euro 6 engines. Military versions, however, are still available. [3]
Since 2009 the Kerax is powered by the DXi11 11.1 L 6-cylinder diesel engine [4] which is Euro 5 compliant, and available in three tuning configurations: 380 bhp (283 kW; 385 PS)/1,800 N⋅m (1,328 lb⋅ft), 430 bhp (321 kW; 436 PS)/2,040 N⋅m (1,505 lb⋅ft) and 460 bhp (343 kW; 466 PS)/2,200 N⋅m (1,623 lb⋅ft). There is a choice between a 16-speed manual gearbox, or an automated 12-speed gearbox.
Prior to 2009, the Kerax was powered by Euro 3 DXi11 10.8 L engines producing 330 bhp (246 kW; 335 PS)/1,650 N⋅m (1,217 lb⋅ft), 380 bhp (283 kW; 385 PS)/1,850 N⋅m (1,364 lb⋅ft) and 440 bhp (328 kW; 446 PS)/2,000 N⋅m (1,475 lb⋅ft).
Suspension varies depending on model; parabolic on the 26t version, and semi-elliptical for the 32t version. There are three cab options, all of which are 2,300 mm (90.6 in) wide, but their length varies between 1,600 mm (63.0 in) and 2,200 mm (86.6 in) long. The wheelbase can vary between 3,200 mm (126.0 in) and 6,000 mm (236.2 in).
The Kerax is manufactured in the Russian city of Kaluga at the Volvo Trucks factory which opened in 2009. [5]
Mack Trucks sells a rebadged Kerax as a military logistics and tactical truck. The Canadian Army ordered over 1,500 Kerax trucks from 2017 to 2018. [6] [7] These vehicles replaced the second half of the Medium Support Vehicle System contract originally awarded to Navistar International for the Navistar 7400.
The Kerax is often used in the Dakar Rally as a support vehicle. [8]
The TVR Tuscan Speed Six is a sports car which was manufactured by British automobile manufacturer TVR from 1999 to 2006. The name pays homage to the original Tuscan which was introduced in 1967.
The Chrysler B and RB engines are a series of big-block V8 gasoline engines introduced in 1958 to replace the Chrysler FirePower engines. The Jaguar AJ-8 is a compact DOHC V8 piston engine used in many Jaguar vehicles. It was the fourth new engine type in the history of the company. In 1997 it replaced both designs previously available on Jaguar cars: the straight-6 Jaguar AJ6 engine, and the Jaguar V12 engine. It remained the only engine type available on Jaguar until 1999 with the launch of the S-Type, when the Jaguar AJ-V6 engine was added to the list. The AJ-V8 is available in displacements ranging from 3.2L to 5.0L, and a supercharged version is also produced. Ford Motor Company also used this engine in other cars, including the Lincoln LS and the 2002-2005 Ford Thunderbird, as well as in several Land Rovers, and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
The original Ford Cologne V6 is a series of 60° cast iron block V6 engines produced continuously by the Ford Motor Company in Cologne, Germany, since 1965. Along with the British Ford Essex V6 engine and the U.S. Buick V6 and GMC Truck V6, these were among the first mass-produced V6 engines in the world.
The VQ is a V6 piston engine produced by Nissan with displacements varying from 2.0 L to 4.0 L. It is an aluminum block DOHC 4-valve design with aluminum heads. It is fitted with Nissan's EGI/ECCS sequential multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) system. Later versions feature various implementations of variable valve timing and replace MPFI with direct fuel injection. The VQ series engine was honored by Ward's 10 Best Engines list almost every year from the list's inception. The VQ series replaced the VG series of engines.
The Navistar VT engine family is a line of diesel engines that was produced by International Truck and Engine from 2003 to 2016. Developed as the replacement for the T444E V8, the VT V6 and V8 diesels were the smallest diesel engines used in Navistar vehicles, slotted below the DT inline-6 engine family. Sharing many applications with the DT466 inline-6, the VT engines were used in medium-duty trucks and bus chassis, competing against the Cummins B-series and the Mercedes-Benz MBE900 diesel engines. In 2007, both the VT and DT engines were rebranded under the MaxxForce brand name, with model designations related to their displacement.
The Prince G-series engine was the company's only straight-four and straight-six engines which began production in 1955. A number of variations were made, with both OHV and OHC heads. A diesel four-cylinder with 1.9 L (1,862 cc) was also built, called the D-6. The G series was used in the Skyline, the Laurel, and the Gloria from the 1950s to the early 1970s.
The MR is a family of straight-four all-aluminium automobile engines with variable valve timing co-developed by Renault and Nissan. Renault calls it the M engine. Other noteworthy features of this engine family include acoustically equal runner lengths and a tumble control valve for the intake manifold, a "silent" timing chain, mirror finished crankshaft and camshaft journals, and offset cylinder placement in an attempt for increased efficiency.

The Renault Maxity is a light commercial vehicle with a cab-over-engine style truck launched by the French manufacturer Renault Trucks in 2007. The Maxity is near-identical to the Nissan Cabstar, sharing the same drive-train and engine options and manufactured on the same Nissan owned production line in Avila, Spain. While the sharing of engines and production facilities is part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the vehicle is sold by Renault Trucks which is owned by Volvo.
