Rock Bridge Township is one of ten townships in Boone County, Missouri, USA. As of the 2012 census, its population was 2,729. [2] [ failed verification ] The township's major city is the village of McBaine.
Settled mainly by settlers from the upland south (Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee), the township was named after a natural karst formation located in today's Rock Bridge State Park. This area is rapidly urbanizing as the city of Columbia expands south.
Rock Bridge Township covers an area between the city of Columbia and the Missouri River. The township contains one incorporated settlement besides Columbia: McBaine. The unincorporated communities of Providence, Easley, and Pierpont are also within the bounds. The Little Boone Femme and Roche Perche Creeks empty into the Missouri River at the southeastern edge of the township. Providence River access, Cooper's Landing, Eagle Bluffs, and Rock Bridge State Park are all within the township. The area contains the most extensive karst features north of the Missouri River.
Columbia is a city in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is the county seat of Boone County and home to the University of Missouri. Founded in 1821, it is the principal city of the five-county Columbia metropolitan area. It is Missouri's fourth most-populous and fastest growing city, with an estimated 126,254 residents in 2020.

Route 163 is a highway in Boone County, Missouri, United States. Its northern terminus is at Interstate 70/U.S. Route 40 (I-70/US 40) in Columbia; its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 63 (US 63) south of Columbia. Route 163 passes through Rock Bridge State Park and Columbia is the only city on the highway. Within the city, the route is known locally as Providence Road.

NOTE: Cedar Township in Callaway County no longer contains the town of Cedar City since boundary changes creating Summit Township from its former southern sector sometime between 1883 and 1897. Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is a geological preserve and public recreation area encompassing 2,273 acres (920 ha), five miles (8.0 km) south of Columbia in Boone County, Missouri.
