Three Creeks Township is one of ten townships in Boone County, Missouri, USA. [2] [ failed verification ] The township's contains part of the city of Ashland and also a part of the village of Pierpont.
Settled mainly by settlers from the upland south (Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee), the township was named the three major creeks draining it: Boone Femme, Turkey, and Bass Creeks. Much of the area was too hilly for agriculture and was settled by freed slaves after the civil war. The Columbia Regional Airport is located on former prairie east of U.S. Highway 63.
Three Creeks Township spans Boone County east to west and just located above Cedar Township The only incorporated settlements: Ashland and Pierpont. The unincorporated communities of Deer Park and Englewood are also within the bounds. The area like Rock Bridge to the north abounds with Karst Features. Hunters Cave drains a portion of Bass Creek.
Boone County is located in the U.S. state of Missouri. Centrally located the state's Mid-Missouri region, its county seat is in Columbia, which is Missouri's fourth-largest city and location of the University of Missouri. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the county's population was listed as 183,610, making it the state's eighth-most populous county. The county was organized November 16, 1820, removed from the former larger Howard County of the old federal Missouri Territory of 1812-1821, and named for the famous Western explorer and settler of Kentucky, then recently deceased Daniel Boone (1734-1820), whose kin largely populated the Boonslick area, having arrived in the 1810s on the Boone's Lick Road.

Pierpont is a village in Boone County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 64 at the 2020 census. The village, located south of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park at Route N and Highway 163, was incorporated in 2004 to avoid annexation by the city of Columbia. It is now an independent village with its own governing board of trustees.
Mahanoy Creek is a 51.6-mile-long (83.0 km) tributary of the Susquehanna River in Northumberland and Schuylkill counties, Pennsylvania. There are at least 35 sources of acid mine drainage in the creek's watershed. Anthracite was mined in the upper part of the Mahanoy Creek watershed in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mahanoy Creek's tributaries include Schwaben Creek, Zerbe Run, Little Mahanoy Creek, Shenandoah Creek, and North Mahanoy Creek. Little Mahanoy Creek and Schwaben Creek are two streams in the watershed that are unaffected by acid mine drainage. Schwaben Creek has a higher number and diversity of fish species than the main stem.
