Tioman Island is 32 kilometres off the east coast of Rompin District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is 39 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide and has seven villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek on the central western coast. The densely forested island is sparsely inhabited, and is surrounded by numerous coral reefs, making it a popular scuba diving, snorkelling, and surfing spot. There are many resorts and chalets for tourists around the island, which has duty-free status.
Pekan is a town in Pekan District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is also the royal capital of the state. Its name comes from a flower, the Bunga Pekan. Pekan is also the name of the district the town is situated in, and a parliamentary constituency in its own right. It is the home of the state's royal family headed by Sultan Abdullah of Pahang. It is also the hometown of the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, and his son, sixth prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Both were Pekan's Member of Parliament.

Endau-Rompin National Park is a protected tropical rainforest situated within a massif in the southern foothills of the Tenasserim Hills, straddling Segamat and Mersing Districts in northeastern Johor and Rompin District in southern Pahang. It covers a total land area of approximately 870 km2 (340 sq mi), making it the second-largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia after Taman Negara. It has approximately 26 km (16 mi) of trail. It is the second national park proclaimed by the government of Malaysia. Gunung Besar, the second-highest peak in Johor, is in the park.

From Singapore, travellers must travel 215 km (134 mi) north by the coastal road via the city of Johor Bahru and the town of Mersing. From the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Rompin is located east and is about 3½ hours journey by road.

Labi-labi dance is a traditional dance of Pahang inspired by the community's observation of labi-labi living in rivers, lakes, and ponds. It starts with the event of anglers who want to fish but are lured by labi-labi. Although the anglers were disappointed, the community made the event as a joke and the labi-labi dance movement broke out.
