Rypobius is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are about five described species in Rypobius. [1] [2] [3]
These five species belong to the genus Rypobius:
Corylophidae is a family of minute hooded beetles, sometimes called minute fungus beetles, in the superfamily Coccinelloidea. There are about 18 genera and at least 120 described species in Corylophidae. They feed on microfungi such as molds, and are often found associated with bark, as well as in leaf litter and other decaying vegetation. In older literature, the family name was often given as Orthoperidae.
Sphindidae is a family of beetles, in the suborder Polyphaga. They are called slime mold beetles due to their exclusive feeding on slime molds during adult and larval stages, other aspects of their life history are obscure. Palaeontological discoveries since 2015 have added to the geologic history of Sphindidae, including the discovery of Libanopsis, placed in the extinct subfamily Libanopsinae.
Coccinelloidea is a superfamily of beetles in the order Coleoptera, formerly included in the superfamily Cucujoidea. There are more than 10,000 species in Coccinelloidea, including more than 6000 in the lady beetle family Coccinellidae.
Holopsis is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are about 9 described species in Holopsis.
Clypastraea is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are more than 20 described species in Clypastraea.
Parmulini is a tribe of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are at least 2 genera and more than 40 described species in Parmulini.
Arthrolips is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are more than 20 described species in Arthrolips.
Sericoderus is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are about 12 described species in Sericoderus.
Aenigmaticum californicum is a species of minute hooded beetle in the family Corylophidae. It is found in North America.
Aenigmaticum is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are about five described species in Aenigmaticum.
Sphindus is a genus of cryptic slime mold beetles in the family Sphindidae. There are at least three described species in Sphindus.
Loedelia is a genus of checkered beetles in the family Cleridae. There are at least three described species in Loedelia.
Pactopus is a genus of small false click beetles in the family Throscidae. There are about six described species in Pactopus.
Pelonium is a genus of checkered beetles in the family Cleridae. There are about 19 described species in Pelonium.
Dendrobiella is a genus of horned powder-post beetles in the family Bostrichidae. There are about seven described species in Dendrobiella.
Rypobius marinus is a species of minute hooded beetle in the family Corylophidae. It is found in North America.
Rypobiini is a tribe of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are at least 2 genera and about 14 described species in Rypobiini.
Pterotus is a genus of fireflies in the beetle family Lampyridae. There are at least two described species in Pterotus.
Eurysphindus is a genus of cryptic slime mold beetles in the family Sphindidae. There are about eight described species in Eurysphindus.
Orthoperus is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are more than 20 described species in Orthoperus.
