The SEAT Tribu was a compact SUV concept car that was built by the Spanish automaker SEAT, S.A. in the autumn of 2007. [1]
The first time when the name Tribu was used by SEAT was at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show for the concept car, which featured three doors and four bucket seats. [2] The concept SUV was the first project designed entirely by Luc Donckerwolke, the former designer for Lamborghini, who in September 2005 was appointed the Design Director for SEAT. [1]
Official designs for SEAT of the production model were submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in August 2008, and subsequently leaked. [3] [4] The concept car had suffered radical changes, featuring five doors and the more conventional boot opening. [4] It was by then due to have been released in the beginning of 2010. [5] [6]
Several car magazines were quick to turn these official grey-scale pictures into computer-generated images that showed the Tribu in near final form as the rebadged version of the Volkswagen Tiguan. [1] [4] The car did not subsequently reach production due to rough economic conditions at the time. Development had officially frozen by December 2009, and the firm had still yet to decide whether the car would ever make production. [7]
In March 2014, Auto Express reported that SEAT were working on a family of CUVs, with an estimated release date of 2016. [8] The vehicles were to based on the SEAT León and were inspired by the Nissan Qashqai, and would rival it. This proved to be exact with the launch of the SEAT Ateca SUV in March 2016, at the Geneva Motor Show. [9]
The Renault Espace is a series of automobiles manufactured by Renault since 1984. For its first five generations, the Espace was a multi-purpose vehicle/MPV (M-segment), but it has been redesigned as a mid-size crossover SUV for its sixth generation.

The Volkswagen Group New Small Family platform (NSF) is a range of ultra-compact city cars manufactured by Volkswagen Group launched in late 2011, based on the Volkswagen up! concept cars shown at 2007's Frankfurt and Tokyo motor shows. Although the up! concept car had a rear-engine design, the NSF's platform is front-engined, according to reports, in order to reduce investment costs. The range will consist of a short wheelbase three-door hatchback and a five-door version. A hybrid version was touted to join the range but never did. The NSF Platform was offered with electric powertrains in the E-Up, Citigo and Mii.
The Dacia Duster is a family of automobiles produced and marketed jointly by the French manufacturer Renault and its Romanian subsidiary Dacia since 2010. It is currently in its third generation, It is marketed as the Renault Duster in certain markets such as Latin America, Russia, Ukraine, Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, and New Zealand. The first generation was rebadged and restyled as the Nissan Terrano in CIS countries and India. It was introduced in March 2010, and is the third model of the Dacia brand based on the Logan platform, after the Sandero.
The Volkswagen Group MQB platform is the company's strategy for shared modular design construction of its transverse, front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout automobiles. It was first introduced in the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 in late 2012. Volkswagen spent roughly $8bn developing this new platform and the cars employing it. The platform underpins a wide range of cars from the supermini class to the mid size SUV class. MQB allows Volkswagen to assemble any of its cars based on this platform across all of its MQB ready factories. This allows the Volkswagen group flexibility to shift production as needed between its different factories. Beginning in 2012, Volkswagen Group marketed the strategy under the code name MQB, which stands for Modularer Querbaukasten, translating from German to "Modular Transversal Toolkit" or "Modular Transverse Matrix". MQB is one strategy within VW's overall MB program which also includes the similar MLB strategy for vehicles with longitudinal engine orientation.
The Peugeot HR1 is a concept car that was designed by Peugeot for the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It is a supermini SUV and features an innovative hybrid powertrain. Instead of using a diesel linked to an electric motor like in the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 508, it uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine. CAR compared the car’s styling being “sort of like the shrunken Range Rover Evoque.”
The Renault Captur is a series of subcompact crossover SUVs manufactured by the French automaker Renault. The production version of the first one, based on the B platform, made its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and started to be marketed in France during April 2013. The Captur Concept was first shown at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
The Citroën C4 Aircross is a subcompact crossover SUV. It was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
The Renault Kadjar is a compact crossover SUV (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Renault. It was revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, with sales starting in April 2015 in Europe, and in 2016 in China.
The Škoda Kodiaq is a mid-size crossover SUV with optional three-row seating manufactured by the Czech manufacturer Škoda Auto since 2017. The vehicle sits in Škoda's D-SUV, above the Kamiq and Karoq. The vehicle is based on the Volkswagen Group MQB platform closely shared with the similarly sized Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and the SEAT Tarraco.

The brand's first SUV offering, the Ateca is built on the Volkswagen Group MQB A1 platform and sits in the C-SUV segment, between the Arona and Tarraco within SEAT's crossover SUV lineup. It was unveiled as a production vehicle on 1 March 2016 in Barcelona.

Marketed as a coupé SUV, it is the first car designed specifically for the sub-brand. The production version was revealed in March 2020, after its unveiling was postponed when the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. It was previewed as a near-production concept vehicle at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is named after the Formentor peninsula on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Production of the Formentor started in late September 2020.
