Saint Elizabeth University (SEU) (formerly College of Saint Elizabeth, CSE) is a private Catholic university in Morris Township, New Jersey. Portions of the campus are also in Florham Park. [3] SEU offer 25 undergraduate degree program, 16 master's degree programs, and 2 doctoral degree programs.
The College of Saint Elizabeth was founded in 1899 by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and was among the first Catholic colleges in the United States to award degrees to women. It is located in a complex which includes the order's motherhouse and convent, as well as a preparatory school for girls.
The college began transitioning into a co-educational institution, starting with the 2016 freshman intake. The final all-female class graduated in 2019. [4] The institution was accorded university status by the New Jersey Department of Education as of July 1, 2020. [5] It was the last women-only college in the state. [6]
The school is named for St. Elizabeth, the cousin of Mary (mother of Jesus). The college was founded by the Sisters of Charity, the order started by Elizabeth Ann Seton (1774–1821), who, after her death, was canonized as the United States' first native-born saint. (Seton Hall University in New Jersey and Seton Hill University in Pennsylvania are named after Elizabeth Ann Seton.)
Saint Elizabeth University is located on the campus of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. The 200-acre (0.81 km2) wooded campus is home to the classical Greek amphitheater built into a hillside and the original dairy farm for the complex.
Part of the grounds are in Florham Park Borough. [7] Other parts are in Convent Station, Morris Township. [8]
The Convent Station of NJ Transit, located on the campus of Saint Elizabeth University, provides rail transportation both east and west of Convent Station. The trains are the midtown direct line of the Morris & Essex Lines. [9]

The classical Greek Theatre is used for concerts and performances. The Shakespeare Garden, completed in 1931, and a greenhouse, built in 1911 also sit on the campus.
Saint Elizabeth University teams participate as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III. The Eagles are a member of the United East Conference (UEC). Women's sports include basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, tennis and volleyball. [10]
Florham Park is a borough in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 12,585, its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 889 (+7.6%) from the 11,696 recorded at the 2010 census, which in turn reflected an increase of 2,839 (+32.1%) from the 8,857 counted in the 2000 census.

Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton was a Catholic religious sister in the United States and an educator, known as a founder of the country's parochial school system. Born in New York and reared as an Episcopalian, she married and had five children with her husband William Seton. Two years after his death, she converted to Catholicism in 1805.
Seton Hall Preparatory School, generally called Seton Hall Prep, SHP, or "The Prep", is a Roman Catholic all boys' high school located in the suburban community of West Orange in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating under the supervision of the Archdiocese of Newark. Founded in 1856 with an original enrollment of five boys, Seton Hall Prep was originally located on the campus of Seton Hall University, where it became commonly known as "The Prep" as a way to distinguish it from "The University." Rose Thering was a Roman Catholic Dominican religious sister, who gained note as an activist against antisemitism, educator and a professor of Catholic-Jewish dialogue at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She played a crucial role in the implementation of the landmark Vatican II document Nostra Aetate, which repudiated anti-Semitism and laid the groundwork for improved relations between Catholics and Jews. A strong advocate for interfaith dialogue and understanding, she participated in numerous conferences, lectures, and seminars aimed at promoting mutual respect and cooperation between people of different faiths. In recognition of her interfaith work, Seton Hall established the Rose Thering Endowment for Jewish-Christian Studies, which provides scholarships for teachers to take courses in this department.
