Revathy (born 27 September 1988), known by her stage name Kadhal Sandhya, is an Indian former actress who appeared mainly in Tamil film industry and in a few Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada films. [1]
She was born in the year 1988. Her father Ajith is an employee of IOB and her mother Maya is a beautician. She has an elder brother, Rahul. [2] She attended Vidyodaya Girls Higher Secondary School, Chennai until completing Class 9. [2]
Sandhya was studying when she starred in the Tamil love story Kaadhal . The role was offered to many known actresses, including Ileana D'Cruz and then Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, but the latter's father was reluctant to let her become an actress at the time. The team next picked Saranya Nag who was in Class IX, when cinematographer Vijay Milton suggested her name to Balaji Sakthivel. [3] [4] She was initially considered to play the heroine in the film, but finally the role was later handed to Sandhya, after the director felt Saranya looked too young. [5]
After the success of the film Kaadhal ,in 2004, she took up a Malayalam film titled Alice in Wonderland which she played as the sister of actor Jayaram. Then came the musical romance Dishyum with Jeeva. In her third Tamil film, Vallavan , she had only a small role, and the film had only modest box office success.[ citation needed ] She also acted in Koodal Nagar with Bharath. After the success of Cycle , she shifted her focus to Malayalam cinema.[ citation needed ] She debuted as a playback singer for the film Manjal Veiyil . [6] In 2010, she appeared in a role opposite Vishnuvardhan in the Kannada film Aptharakshaka directed by P. Vasu.
She is scheduled to appear in Tarun Gopi's forthcoming film Soodhaatam, [7] Second Innings [8] and Long Sight.[ citation needed ] She has been a judge on a number of reality shows including Comedy Stars and Little Stars on Asianet.
Sandhya married Arjun, a Chennai-based IT employee, on 6 December 2015. The ceremony was held at Guruvayur Temple. The couple have a daughter, born on 27 September 2016. [9]

Kaadhal (transl. Love) is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film based on a true story, directed by Balaji Sakthivel, starring Bharath and Sandhya. It was produced by S. Shankar and featured music composed by Joshua Sridhar. The film opened on 17 December 2004 to critical acclaim and was a high commercial success. The film was dubbed into Telugu as Premisthe. Kadhal 2 Kalyanam is an unreleased Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by newcomer Milind Rau that stars debutante Sathya, brother of Tamil actor Arya, and Divya Spandana, whilst, Jayashree, Nagendra Prasad, Kasthuri and Anuja Iyer play pivotal roles. Noted film critic Baradwaj Rangan had written the dialogues, while Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film's score and soundtrack. The cinematography and editing were handled by P. S. Vinod and Leo John Paul, respectively. Pre-production works began by mid-2008, while the filming continued for over one year, being completed by July 2010. The film was jointly produced by Mirchi Movies and East Coast Entertainment, who are now not in the film-making business. Hence the movie remains unreleased.
Kaadhal Solla Vandhen is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language romance film written and directed by Boopathy Pandian, which stars Balaji Balakrishnan of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal fame and Meghana Raj in lead and Arya in a guest role. The film, previously titled as Naanum En Sandhyavum and Naan Avalai Sandhitha Pozhudhu, is produced by S3 Films and features music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It released on 13 August 2010.
Podaa Podi is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic comedy film written and directed by debutant Vignesh Shivan, starring Silambarasan and debutant Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Pre-production of the film began in 2008, with the filming commencing in 2010 only, following several delays. Cinematography was handled by Vijay Milton, while guitarist R. Prasanna had scored the music.
