Russian Aerospace Forces Aerospace forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

The Russian Aerospace Forces or VKS comprise the aerospace branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Russia established the VKS as a new branch of its military on 1 August 2015 with the merging of the Russian Air Force (VVS) and the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces (VVKO) - as recommended by the Ministry of Defence. The VKS has its headquarters in Moscow. Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu explained the merger as improving efficiency and logistical support.

Aleksey Dyumin

Alexei Gennadyevich Dyumin is a Russian politician, serving as Governor of Tula Oblast since 2016. Previously he served as President Vladimir Putin's chief security guard and assistant before being promoted to lead the Russian military’s Special Operations Forces, where he oversaw the annexation of Crimea in 2014. The following year, he became Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation. He holds the rank of lieutenant general and is a recipient of the Hero of the Russian Federation title.

Young Army Cadets National Movement

Established in October 2015, the All-Russia "Young Army" National Military Patriotic Social Movement Association is a youth organization supported and funded by the Government of Russia through the Ministry of Defence of Russia (MOD) with a mission to train future personnel for the uniformed services and to instill the values of patriotism, national service, national and military history, remembrance of past military operations and campaigns and of the fallen of its armed forces, and to help develop the country as its population grows.

Navy Day (Russia)

Day of the Russian Navy is national holiday in the Russian Federation and a senior holiday in the Russian Armed Forces. The day honors the sailors in units of the Russian Navy and its specialized arms. It is celebrated annually, on the last Sunday of July.

Yevgeny Zinichev Russian politician and general (1966–2021)

Yevgeny Nikolayevich Zinichev was a Russian politician and military officer. He served as the Minister of Emergency Situations from 2018 until his death, and was also a member of the Security Council of Russia. In 2016, he served as the acting Governor of Kaliningrad Oblast before being replaced by Anton Alikhanov. He was ranked General of the Army as of 2020.

Tula Suvorov Military School

The Tula Suvorov Military School (TlSVU) is a military educational institution of secondary education of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. It was the second Suvorov Military School to be founded in the Soviet Union. It is primarily geared towards the Russian Air Force.

Andrey Kartapolov

Andrey Valeryevich Kartapolov is a Russian politician and former army officer of the Russian Army. From 30 July 2018 to October 2021 he served as Deputy Defence Minister, and headed the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces. He had commanded the Western Military District from 2015 to 2016, and again from 2017 to 2018. Kartapolov has held the rank of colonel general since 2015. He is currently a member of parliament, a deputy of the State Duma, elected on 19 September 2021.

Sky is a 2021 Russian aviation action war film written and directed by Igor Kopylov, about the Russian military pilots in Syria, and the 2015 shootdown of an Su-24 over Turkey-Syrian airspace. The film was shot with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and is included in the list of films that must be watched in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Timur Vadimovich Ivanov, is a Russian statesman and army officer, who is currently the Deputy Minister of Defense since 23 May 2016. He is also an acting State Advisor of the Russian Federation, 1st class, and a candidate of economic sciences.
