Taman Tasik Shah Alam, also known as Shah Alam Lake Garden, is a 43-hectare public park located in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is the first public park to open in the state of Selangor in 1985 and designed by architect Fumiaki Takano. The park contains three man-made lakes, which are connected by a network of canals and walkways. There is also a water theme park, Wet World Shah Alam, located on the Western Lake. The park hosts a variety of flora and fauna. There are over 100 species of trees and plants, as well as a variety of birds, animals, and insects. [1] [2] [3]

Flora

Shah Alam Lake Garden has a wide variety of flora. Most common trees found in the park include rain, rubber, mahogany, and acacia trees. [4]

The shrubs and flowers of the park include bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani, and orchids. Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea spp.) are colorful flowers that are a popular choice for landscaping, and they can be found in abundance throughout the park. Hibiscus (Hibiscus spp.) are large, showy flowers that are a common sight in tropical gardens. Frangipani (Plumeria spp.) are fragrant flowers known for their tropical aroma, and can be found in the park along with orchids (family Orchidaceae) and other flowers. [5]

Fauna

The park's three man-made lakes provide a habitat for a variety of fish species, including tilapia, catfish, carp, snakehead, goby, and killifish. These fishes play an important role in the park's ecosystem by controlling algae populations, provide food for other animals, and aerate the water.[ citation needed ]

Tourism

Within the park contains amenities such as boat rentals, playgrounds, sites for fishing and lake-side restaurants. [6]
