Shahid Beheshti University [a] is a public research university located in Tehran, Iran. Founded in 1960 as the National University of Iran, [b] it has 3 campuses, 19 faculties, 10 research institutes and 9 research centres, and is situated on a 60-hectare land in the Evin neighborhood in northern Tehran. [2] [3]

History

Shahid Beheshti University has been sanctioned by governments in the EU, US, Australia, Canada, and Switzerland for their links to Iran's nuclear program. [4] This restricts business and financial transactions with the university, in some cases including its students. [5] [6]
