Shalini Pandey (born 23 September 1993) is an Indian actress who works in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films. [1] She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017), [2] and has since acted in the Tamil film 100% Kadhal (2019), the Telugu films Mahanati (2018) and 118 (2019), and the Hindi film Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022). Early life

Pandey was born on 23 September 1993 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. [4] [5]

Career

Pandey started her career in a theatre in Jabalpur. She made her film debut with the Telugu film Arjun Reddy in 2017 opposite Vijay Deverakonda. She did her own dubbing, though she doesn't speak Telugu fluently. [2] [6] The film was a commercial success and she received SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut (Telugu) nomination for her performance as Preethi.[ citation needed ]

She then appeared in a Cameo appearance in the Hindi film Meri Nimmo in 2018. The same year she appeared in the successful Telugu film Mahanati . [7]

Pandey had five releases in 2019. She played Sowcar Janaki in Telugu film NTR: Kathanayakudu . She then appeared in Telugu film 118 which was a commercial success. [8] In October 2019, Pandey made her Tamil debut with 100% Kadhal . [9] alongside G. V. Prakash Kumar. It became a box office failure. Her last two release of the year came with the Tamil film Gorilla and Telugu film Iddari Lokam Okate . [10]

Pandey made her Hindi film debut in 2020 with the ZEE5 film Bamfaad alongside Aditya Rawal. [11] She then appeared in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual Nishabdham . [12]

In 2022, she portrayed Mudra, a Gujarati mother opposite Ranveer Singh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar . [13] [14]

Pandey will next appear in Junaid Khan's Maharaja for which she started filming in 2021. [15]

The film tells the story of Arjun Reddy Deshmukh (Deverakonda), a rich and alcoholic surgeon, who has Schizotypal Personality Disorder that causes anger management problems. Arjun is on a self-destructive path after the marriage of his girlfriend Preethi Shetty (Pandey); the film focuses on his downfall and subsequent resurgence.

Mahanati is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language biographical drama film based on the life of actress Savitri. It is written and directed by Nag Ashwin, and produced by Priyanka Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The film features Keerthy Suresh as Savitri while Dulquer Salmaan plays Savitri's husband Gemini Ganesan. The film also stars Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Deverakonda, along with Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, and Bhanupriya who appear in supporting roles. Naga Chaitanya and Mohan Babu, among others, play guest appearances. Pushpa: The Rise is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Sukumar. It stars Allu Arjun as the title character alongside Fahadh Faasil, and Rashmika Mandanna while Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Raj Tirandasu, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay and Ajay Ghosh play supporting roles. Karthik Rathnam is an Indian actor who works in Telugu theatre and Telugu cinema. Rathnam made his debut with the critically acclaimed film C/o Kancharapalem (2018), which was the first Telugu film to be screened at New York Film Festival. Followed by his appearance in ZEE5's Gods of Dharmapuri (G.O.D), Rathnam reprised his role in Tamil remake of C/o Kancharapalem.

Arjun Reddy is the soundtrack to the 2017 film of the same name directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The album featured seven songs composed by Radhan with lyrics penned by Ananta Sriram, Rambabu Gosala, Shreshta and Mandela Pedaswamy. The album was released on 21 August 2017 through Aditya Music and preceded with four singles.
