Championship not completed (lack of wind). However four races were completed. The final results of this series is stated below. The first race was sailed in a storm. During the race winds were reported over 70 km/h. During the start sequens there was even more. Out of 79 boats only 43 made it to the first mark and only 29 to the finish line! The rest of the week was characterize by light air. Since 5 races need to be completed for a valid championship, the team of Denmark won the series but not the World Championship.

The Soling is an open keelboat that holds the World Sailing "International class" status. The class was used from the 1972 Olympics until the 2000 Olympics as "Open three-person keelboat". Besides the Olympic career of the Soling the boat is used for international and local regattas as well as for recreational sailing. The Soling is managed by the International Soling Association under auspician of World Sailing since 1968.
The 470 World Championships have been held every year since 1970 and organised by the club on behalf of the International 470 Class Association and recognized by World Sailing. When the Championship forms part of the ISAF Sailing World Championships.
