The South Africa women's under-19 cricket team represents South Africa in international under-19 women's cricket. The team is administrated by Cricket South Africa.
The team played their first official international matches against India in late 2022 and early 2023, in preparation for the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, the first ever international women's under-19 cricket competition, held in South Africa. [1] They reached the Super Six stage at the inaugural tournament. [2]
The inaugural Women's Under-19 World Cup was scheduled to take place in January 2021, but was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3] The tournament was eventually scheduled to take place in 2023, in South Africa. As the host nation, South Africa qualified automatically for the tournament. [4]
In December 2022, the side competed in one of South Africa's domestic competitions, the Women's T20 Super League, losing all of their completed matches. [5] Later in December and in January 2023, they played a five-match T20I series against India. [6] At the Under-19 T20 World Cup, the side reached the Super Six stage, in which they finished fourth in their group. [2]

The Pakistan women's national cricket team, also known as Green Shirts or Women in Green, represents Pakistan in international women's cricket. One of eight teams competing in the ICC Women's Championship, the team is organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Lizelle Lee is a South African cricketer who played for the South Africa women's national cricket team from 2013 to 2022. She has played for Western Storm and Surrey Stars in the Women's Cricket Super League, as well as Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's Big Bash League. Lee is an opening batter. In January 2022, Lee was named the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year. In July 2022, Lee announced her retirement from international cricket.

The 2020–23 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League is the ongoing inaugural edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, a One Day International (ODI) league. The league is taking place from July 2020 to May 2023, and serves as part of the 2023 Cricket World Cup qualification process.
The 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup was the first edition of the ICC Women's Under-19 Cricket World Cup, hosted by South Africa in 2023. The tournament was moved from its original slot at the end of 2021 to January 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen teams competed in the tournament, initially divided into four groups.
The 2022–23 international cricket season is from September 2022 to April 2023. Currently, 27 Tests, 93 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 104 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) are scheduled to be held in this season. In women's international cricket 19 Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 28 Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is) are scheduled to be held in this season. Additionally, a number of other T20I/WT20I matches are also scheduled to be played in series involving associate nations. The 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup, and the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, all took place during this time. In the round-robin stage of 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup, Thailand beat Pakistan by 4 wickets to register their first ever win in international cricket against the opponents. In July 2022, South Africa withdrew from the three-match ODI series against Australia, after the fixtures clashed with their new domestic T20 league. As a result, Cricket Australia relocated some of its home schedule to include venues that would have hosted the ODI matches. The matches would have formed part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, with Cricket South Africa and the International Cricket Council (ICC) agreeing to award the points to Australia.
