South Gujarat Cricket Association Ground is a cricket ground in the city of Surat in Gujarat, India. The hosted two Ranji Trophy matches for Gujarat cricket team against Baroda cricket team in 1967 [1] and Saurashtra cricket team in 1972. [2] The ground owned by South Gujarat Cricket Association.

The West Zone cricket team is a first-class cricket team that represents western India in the Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. It is a composite team of players from five first-class Indian teams from western India competing in the Ranji Trophy: Baroda, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Mumbai and Saurashtra. West Zone has the best track record of all the zones in the Duleep Trophy, as they have won the Trophy 17 times, similar to North Zone. This included four consecutive titles from 1961-62 through to the 1964-65 season, although the third of these were shared with South Zone. Natwarsinhji Cricket Club Ground is cricket ground in Porbandar, Saurashtra. The ground has hosted a Ranji Trophy match in October 1960 between Saurashtra cricket team and Maharashtra cricket team. The match was Maharashtra cricket team won by 10 wickets as match had a low scores with Saurashtra scored 94 & 139 and Maharashtra scored 187 and 47/0 as scheduled for three days but was completed in two days. This was only cricket was ever played on the ground.

The 2018–19 Ranji Trophy was the 85th season of the Ranji Trophy, the first-class cricket tournament that took place in India. It was contested by 37 teams, divided into four groups, with nine teams in Group A. The group stage ran from 1 November 2018 to 10 January 2019. The top five teams across Group A and Group B progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Sunny Patel is an Indian first-class and List A cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm leg break bowler. He played for the Gujarat cricket team in domestic cricket making thirteen first-class and seventeen List A appearances. He made his entrance to Twenty20 cricket for the first time on 5 April 2007, against the Baroda, during 2007 Inter State Twenty20 Tournament. He made his first-class debut on 3 November 2008, against the Saurashtra, during the second match of the 2008–09 Ranji Trophy. He shone on his debut match scoring 90 runs in the first innings, which helped Gujarat to secure 581 runs and have an emphatic win. Prior to his first-class debut, on 27 February 2008, he made his List A debut against the Maharashtra, during the 2007–08 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The 2022–23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was the fifteenth season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a Twenty20 cricket tournament played in India. It was contested by 38 teams, divided into five groups, with seven teams in Group D. The tournament was announced by BCCI on 8 August 2022.
