Kannoth Karunakaran was an Indian politician and member of the Indian National Congress (INC). He served as the Chief Minister of Kerala four times: for a brief period from March 1977 to April 1977, another short term from December 1981 to March 1982, after which president's rule was invoked in the state, and subsequently served from May 1982 to May 1987, and eventually from June 1991 to May 1995. He is the founder of the United Democratic Front (UDF), which is a political alliance in Kerala led by INC.
Oommen Chandy, IPA: [umːɐn̺ t͡ʃɐːɳɖi], is an Indian politician and senior leader of the Indian National Congress party. He served as the Chief Minister of Kerala for two terms, from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2011 to 2016. He was also Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2011.
St. Berchmans College, Changanassery, also known as SB College, is the first Autonomous College in Kerala, India with 3000 students with 800 hostlers. Saint John Berchmans is the patron saint of the college and is venerated in the Church as the Patron of Students. It is a Syrian Catholic college and widely regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges for arts and sciences in India, producing a line of distinguished alumni. It is situated in the town of Changanassery 18 kilometers south of Kottayam. Established in 1922, the college has nineteen postgraduate and eight research departments. Students and alumni are called ‘Berchmanites’. It is run by the Catholic Archdiocese of Changanassery, is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). St. Berchmans' has a sprawling green campus and large play grounds. The college was granted autonomy by the UGC on 13 June 2014. College ranked 79 in All India Ranking by National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2020.
The United Democratic Front (UDF) is an alliance of Centre to centre-left political parties in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the two major political alliances in Kerala, the other being CPI(M)-led LDF, each of which has been in power alternately for the last four decades. UDF has won elections to the State Legislature of Kerala in the years 1982, 1991, 2001, and 2011. The alliance currently acts as the main opposition in the state legislature of Kerala post-May 2016 election. The alliance consists of Indian National Congress, Indian Union Muslim League, Kerala Congress, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Forward Bloc and a variety of other smaller parties. The front follows the principle of Social democracy. It is a part of United Progressive Alliance at national level.
Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is an autonomous body constituted by the Government of Kerala in November 2002 to encourage and promote science and technology-related activities in Kerala State. Prior to the establishment of KSCSTE, the body responsible for carrying out similar work was the State Committee for Science, Technology and Environment (STEC) established in 1972. KSCSTE was formed by restructuring STEC in concurrence with the Science Policy of Government of India.
Indian Mathematical Society (IMS) is the oldest organization in India devoted to the promotion of study and research in mathematics. The Society was founded in April 1907 by V. Ramaswamy Aiyer with its headquarters at Pune. The Society started its activities under the name Analytic Club and the name was soon changed to Indian Mathematical Club. After the adoption of a new constitution in 1910, the society acquired its present name, namely, the Indian Mathematical Society. The first president of the Society was B. Hanumantha Rao.

Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, also called Malayalam University, is a public university in Kerala, India. It was established by the Government of Kerala and inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on 1 November 2012 in a function held in the premises of Thunchanparamba, the home of Thunchath Ezhuthachan in Tirur, Malappuram, Kerala. K. Jayakumar, a civil servant of the Indian Administrative Service cadre, who retired as the Chief Secretary of Kerala on 31 October 2012, prepared the Project Report of the university. He is the first Vice-Chancellor of Malayalam University.
The 2013 Kerala solar panel scam occurred in 2013, when a solar energy company, Team Solar, in Kerala, India, used two women to create political contacts with links including to the Chief Minister's office. The company duped several influential people to the tune of 70 lakhs, by offering to make them business partners, or by offering to install solar power units for them, and receiving advance payments for the same. Team Solar was unsuccessful in lobbying Kerala Govt to get their firm included in ANERT programmes.
Information and Communication Technology Academy of Kerala is an organisation established by Government of Kerala to enhance the quality of graduates in the information technology sector and to generate resources for increasing the employability of students. The project of setting up the Academy was initiated by Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Government of India. Even though the proposal for setting up such an Academy was given formal approval in 2008, due to indecisiveness in choosing the implementing agency, the project continued to remain on paper. In December 2013, Government of Kerala appointed S.D. Shibulal, chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys, as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Academy. The Board of Director of ICT Academy of Kerala appoint Mr.Santhosh Kurup as the Chief Executive Officer. He joined on 14 March 2014. Kerala Science Congress is an annual gathering of Kerala-based scientists and scholars organised by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) for revitalizing Research and Development activities in Kerala and to identify new talents in scientific research in Kerala. KSCSTE is an autonomous body constituted by the Government of Kerala. The gathering features talks by invited scientists, presentations of research papers and awards of various prizes.
The 2015 National Games of India, also known as the 35th National Games of India, was held from 31 January 2015 to 14 February 2015 across seven districts of Kerala, India. It was the second time that Kerala hosted the national games, the first being when it hosted the 27th National Games in 1987.

The College of Climate Change and Environmental Science(CCCES), formerly called as Academy of Climate Change Education and Research(ACCER) is an institution established by Kerala Agricultural University in 2010 to study about climate change under the faculty of agriculture. The campus is situated at Vellanikara, Thrissur, Kerala, India, and has a five-year course on M.Sc. (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation and a four-year course on B.Sc. Climate Change and Environmental Science.
Kerala Maritime Institute is a premier institute for Maritime education in the state established by the Government of Kerala at Neendakara in Kollam city, India. The institute was created by the Port Department of Kerala state to give quality training for students in Kerala. The campus is located on 10 acres of land attached to the Neendakara Port. More than 5,000 students have been trained at Neendakara maritime institute under the Boat Crew training programme. The institute has played a major role in reducing the number of state-wide inland navigation accidents. The headquarters of the institute is at Neendakara.
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is a higher education institute deemed-to-be-university operating under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI). It offers academic curriculum in food technology and supply leading to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), and Ph.D degrees. It is located at Kundli industrial area of Sonipat, Haryana, India.
