It was released on May 4, 2011 as the fifth single from Hirai's eighth studio album Japanese Singer. "Itoshiki Hibi yo" serves as theme song for the second season of the TBS drama Jin. The B-side, "Run to You" is used in Nexco Central Japan commercials starring actress Aya Ueto.

Back Number is a Japanese rock power trio formed in 2004. The group consists of Iyori Shimizu, Kazuya Kojima, and Hisashi Kurihara (drums). The group signed to independent record label Idolsmith Recordings in 2009 and released their debut EP Nogashita Sakana (2009) and studio album Ato no Matsuri (2010). Izora (異空) is the twenty-third studio album by the Japanese rock band Buck-Tick. It was released on April 12, 2023. The album peaked at the 2nd position on the Oricon Albums Chart and is the band's first Top 3 album on Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart. Its charting success makes it a rare example for such a long-lasting band and their "will and persistence" on the Japanese music scene. It is the last album featuring lead singer Atsushi Sakurai, who died on October 19, 2023.
