Dario De Luca is an Italian politician. A member of the right-wing party Brothers of Italy, De Luca was elected mayor of Potenza on 8 June 2014 and took office on 23 June 2014. He was the first right-wing mayor of Potenza, the first to come from the centre-right coalition, and the first Brothers of Italy member to become mayor of a regional capital in Italy. Despite this, he was able to attract the support of the opposition, having to rely on them to have a majority in the city council. In early 2015, De Luca initially resigned but soon retracted after gaining support in the city council. He did not run for re-election in 2019.

Italexit for Italy, usually referred to simply as Italexit, is a populist, sovereignist, and hard Eurosceptic political party in Italy, which advocates the country's exit from the eurozone and the European Union. Its founder is Gianluigi Paragone, a former member of the Senate of the Republic and TV journalist. Paragone and Italexit oppose Italy's membership in NATO. Although the party rejects a classification on the political spectrum and includes some left-wing positions, it is considered right-wing due to Paragone's profile. Italexit was founded in 2020 after Paragone was expelled from the Five Star Movement (M5S). Between 2020 and 2022, Italexit was joined by several members of the Italian Parliament, mainly from the M5S and the League (Lega). Paragone had been a supporter of the M5S–Lega government, which was known as the Government of Change, and opposed the M5S government with the Democratic Party (PD).

The 2021 Turin municipal election took place in Turin, Italy, on 3 and 4 October 2021, to elect the mayor and the 38 members of the Turin city council. Since no mayoral candidate won a majority of votes on the first round, a runoff was held on 17 and 18 October 2021. The second round was won by the centre-left coalition candidate Stefano Lo Russo, member of the Democratic Party, who was officially inaugurated as the new mayor of Turin on 27 October 2021. The incumbent mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino of the Five Star Movement, did not run for re-election.
