Super Singer Season 9 is a 2022-2023 Indian Tamil-language reality television singing competition show. The ninth season of Super Singer, which airs on Star Vijay [1] [2] and streams on Disney+ Hotstar, telecasts every Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 PM, which started from 19 November 2022. [3] [4] [5] MRF Vapocure Paints is the main sponsor for this season. [6]
Makapa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande return as hosts once again for this season. The judging panel consists of four popular playback singers, Anuradha Sriram, P. Unnikrishnan, Benny Dayal, and Shweta Mohan.
The Grand Finale was held on 25 June 2023. At the finals, Aruna Sivaya was the title winner. Aruna is the first woman to become the title winner of Super Singer.
The show begins with a mega musical battle with auditioned top 20 contestants of this season. [7] Each contestant is ranked based on their performance and the top scorer will be given a spot in the super 5 zone. [8] Position in the super five zone keeps changing based on their performance week on week. As contestants are eliminated, the super five zone will become super three zone. Airtel Super Singer is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language reality television singing competition, that was sponsored by KAG Tiles for the tenth season. The show is televised in India on Vijay TV, and worldwide through partner broadcasting networks. The show, together with its spin-off editions such as Airtel Super Singer Junior, are part of Vijay TV's Super Singer TV series.
Super Singer T20 is a 2012-2015 Indian Tamil-language reality television singing competition, which aired on Star Vijay. Former contestants from previous seasons of the Super Singer and Airtel Super Singer Junior shows were divided into 6 teams. 15 league matches were held where each team competed against the other five teams. 4 teams were selected for the knockout semi-finals, before the remaining 2 teams competed against each other in the finals. The show was hosted by Divyadarshini.

It was designed to be a talent hunt to find the best voice of Tamil Nadu. Judges for the auditions were Ananth Vaidyanathan, S.P. Sailaja, Devan Ekambaram, Nithyasree Mahadevan, Mahathi, Pop Shalini, S. Sowmya, Mano and Malgudi Subha. Some of these judges along with other noted musicians reappeared as Guest judges. To name a few- S. Janaki, M. S. Viswanathan, A. R. Rahman, P. Susheela, Asha Bhosle, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Vairamuthu, L. R. Eswari and Vani Jairam. Judges for the main competition were Sujatha, Mano, Unnikrishnan and Srinivas. Makapa Anand, Priyanka Deshpande, and Bhavana were the hosts for the show. The voice trainer was Ananth Vaidyanathan. The show aired on weekdays at 9:00 pm IST.
Airtel Super Singer 3 – Thamizhagathil Brahmaanda Kuralukkaana Thedal – Immurai Ulaga Alavil, the third season of the Airtel Super Singer show, was a reality-based Indian singing competition in Tamil language that aired on Vijay TV. It was designed to be a talent hunt to find the best voice of Tamil Nadu. The show premiered on 12 July 2010, and episodes were telecast between Monday to Thursday each week at 9:00 pm. Persons above the age of 16 years were permitted to audition to showcase their talent on Vijay TV's platform.
Airtel Super Singer 2006 – Thamizhagathil Brahmaanda Kuralukkaana Thedal, the first season of the Airtel Super Singer show and Vijay TV's Super Singer series, was a reality TV singing competition in the Tamil language that aired on Star Vijay and was hosted by singer/voice artist Chinmayi Sripaada. The judging panel of this season includes, Anuradha Sriram, P. Unnikrishnan, and Srinivas. The show first premiered on 28 April 2006, with episodes originally aired on Star Vijay on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday nights at 7:00 pm.
Airtel Super Singer Junior – Ithu Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal – is a reality TV show since February 2007 hosted by Vijay TV, a popular Tamil channel of the Star Network, and sponsored by Bharti Airtel. It is a singing talent hunt for the children of age group 6–15. This is the junior version of the Airtel Super Singer show, which premiered on 28 April 2006. Auditions are held in various parts of Tamil Nadu, India. The show attracts many kids from all over the state and rigorous multi-level selection procedures are done in order to select the contestants for the competition. The tenth season is set to launch very soon.

Nippon Paint sponsored the season after Airtel discontinued its sponsoring. The show was hosted by Makapa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande. The Judges of the show were the popular playback singers Anuradha Sriram, P. Unnikrishnan, Benny Dayal and Shweta Mohan. The Grand finale was held on 15 July 2018 at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai and was a live telecast through Star Vijay. Golden voice Rakshitha, Sreekanth, Shakthi, Anirudh, Malavika and Senthil Ganesh were the final 6 contestants. Folk singer Senthil Ganesh emerged as the title winner of the show who also got a chance to sing in A.R. Rahman's music and the versatile singer Golden voice of super singer 6 Rakshitha emerged as first runner up with 2.5 million and a title golden voice of the season and Sreekanth impressed A. R. Rahman sir by his set final performance and got a chance to sing in his music. Malavika emerged as 2nd runners up with cash price of 300,000.
Sam Vishal J.X. is a singer and an independent vocalist. In 2019, he became the 2nd runner up of Super Singer 7 reality show. As the 2nd runner up of his season, he won a chance to sing songs for music director Anirudh Ravichander – 'Chitti Story' and 'Putta Story' for the film Master. Apart from film music, Sam Vishal is also a regular in independent music and is also seen releasing music independently. He has won the 'Sensational Singer at Digital' award at Blacksheep Digital Awards 2022.

It is a reboot of the 2006 television series of the same name, which aired on Star Vijay. The story revolves around the struggles of a group of high school students and what they face during their secondary school life such as jealousy, rivalry, misunderstandings, arguments and personal grudges. Season 1 ended with episode 132. Season 2 premiered on 21 April 2023.
