Symplocos pendula grows as a tree up to 24m (80ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 30cm (12in). Its bark is dark brown. The fragrant flowers feature a white, cream or pink corolla. The fruit is reddish green.[3]
Distribution and habitat
Symplocos pendula is native to Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and New Guinea.[1] Its habitat is montane forests from 800–3,400m (2,600–11,200ft) altitude.[3]
