TV4 Guld is a Swedish television channel devoted to "classic" programmes such as older television dramas.

Contents

The channel launched on November 3, simultaneously with its sister channel TV4 Komedi, on satellite from Canal Digital and cable from Com Hem. The channels were not available on the Viasat satellite platform or Boxer terrestrial package from the start.

TV4 is a Swedish free-to-air television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. From 2004 to 2019, the TV4 Group was a fully active member of the European Broadcasting Union.

TV4 Norge was a Norwegian television channel owned by TV4 AB. TV4 Norge started in 1990 and was shut down in 1992 because it didn't make enough money. It was broadcast from the Intelsat VA F-12 satellite on 1 degree west.{dead link}

TV4 HD is a Swedish high-definition television channel from TV4 AB.

TV4 Sport was a Swedish sports television channel owned by television company TV4 AB, with the tabloid newspaper Expressen owning a minor share. In April 2014, a sports channel similar to TV4 Sport is launched as TV12 by the same company, replacing sv:TV4 Sport Xtra. This channel was previously called TV4 Sport Xtra, with the name changed to TV4 Sport as TV12 was launched).

TV4 Komedi was a sister subchannel of Swedish TV4, owned by TV4 Group. The channel focuses on comedy only with sitcoms, comedy shows and talk shows. The channel airs classic sitcoms like ALF, Family Matters, Cheers, Hope & Faith, Will & Grace, The Golden Girls together with newer shows such as the Late Show with David Letterman, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation.

Telia Digital TV is an IPTV distribution platform in Sweden owned by Telia Company. It was launched in January 2005 from a few locations.

Tele2Vision was a Swedish cable television distributor owned by Tele2 that was started in 1986.

Television began in Sweden in 1954 with test transmissions, prior to the opening of the first station, Radiotjänst, two years later. A second channel was launched in 1969. Commercial television arrived in the 1980s through cable television and in 1992, the country's first terrestrial commercial channel was launched.

The Swedish Press and Broadcasting Authority decides on permits, fees and registration for terrestrial television, community and commercial radio; and monitor radio and television programme services, on-demand services and teletext, to verify that the content of radio and television programmes adhere to broadcasting regulations. TV4 Media AB is a Swedish media holding company which is currently a part of the Swedish telecommunications company Telia Company, having acquired it from Swedish multimedia conglomerate Bonnier Group. The company owns Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 AB, Finnish commercial broadcaster MTV Oy, and pan-Nordic premium television channel operator C More Entertainment.
