Taastrup (or Tåstrup) (Danish pronunciation: [ˈtsʰɒstʁɔp] ) is a Danish railway town and suburb of Copenhagen – 18 km west of Copenhagen's city centre. The town forms a twin urban area with neighbouring suburb Høje Taastrup, Taastrup rising since 1859 and Høje Taastrup rising west of the town, since the 1970s. The town/suburb development has engulfed the villages of Taastrup Valby, Høje Taastrup, Kragehave and Klovtofte, although Høje Taastrup still has a preserved village character around Høje Taastrup Church. The town is the administrative seat of Høje-Taastrup Municipality, Region Hovedstaden; the seat placed in Taastrup first and since moving to Høje- Taastrup in the beginning of the 1980s. In 2023 a new town hall was opened on 14 February.
The town is growing closer to the town of Hedehusene, both towns developing towards each other, and both situated in the municipality. The population on 1 January 2023 was 37,231 (excluding Hedehusene). [1]
Taastrup took its name from its rise on the lands north of the village of Taastrup Valby. Taastrup Valby means "Valby by (Høje) Taastrup", named "Taastrup Valby" to avoid confusion with other locations like Valby.
The town is situated approximately halfway between Copenhagen and Roskilde, in proximity to the Copenhagen suburb/new town Albertslund, the town of Hedehusene and the villages of Ishøj Landsby, Sengeløse and Vridsløsemagle.

Høje-Taastrup Municipality is a municipality in the Capital Region on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 78 km2 (30 sq mi), and has a total population of 57,540. It was formed by the 1970 Danish Municipal Reform, and its 1974 adjustment, by merging the parish municipalities of Høje Taastrup, Sengeløse, the Fløng part of Hvedstrup-Fløng and the Reerslev part of Reerslev-Vindinge. Since 1 January 2006 the mayor of the municipality has been Michael Ziegler, a member of the Conservative People's Party political party.
Vallensbæk Municipality is a municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark on Zealand. It is part of the Greater Copenhagen area and consist primarily of the suburb of Vallensbæk. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Denmark in terms of area. Vallensbæk Municipality borders the municipalities of Ishøj, Høje-Taastrup, Albertslund and Brøndby. It borders Køge Bay, and the Køge Bay Beach Park along the coast. The suburb of Vallensbæk consists of two sections, not directly connected to each other: Vallensbæk Nordmark in the north and Vallensbæk Strand in the south. The two parts of the town are commonly referred to together as Vallensbæk. The only other settlement in the municipality is the village of Vallensbæk Landsby.

Furesø Municipality is a municipality in Denmark. It has a population of 42,533 and a total area of 55.68 km2 with water and forest making up around 10 and 15 km2, respectively. The municipality belongs to the Copenhagen Capital Region and lies 20 km northwest of Copenhagen. Its mayor is Ole Bondo Christensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. It is a municipality with much forest and access to several lakes, of which it is named after the largest, Furesøen, which has a popular beach with rest rooms, a small candy/ice shop and in addition sportsboat (competition) clubs and a restaurant open all year.
Valby ( ) is one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen Municipality, Denmark. It is in the southwestern corner of Copenhagen Municipality, and has a mixture of different types of housing. This includes apartment blocks, terraced housing, areas with single-family houses and allotments, plus the remaining part of the old Valby village, around which the district has formed, intermingled with past and present industrial sites.
Hedehusene is a suburban town located on the rail line between Copenhagen and Roskilde in the Capital Region of Denmark. It has absorbed the villages of Baldersbrønde and Fløng and almost merged with Roskilde's eastern Trekroner neighbourhood to the west and Høje Taastrup to the east. To the south is the large recreational area Hedeland. As of 1 January 2024, the town had a population of 16,049. A large development project, NærHeden, created as a collaboration between Høje-Taastrup Municipality and Realdania, will expand the town to the southeast with a new sustainable neighbourhood.
Copenhagen Municipality, also known in English as the Municipality of Copenhagen, located in the Capital Region of Denmark, is the largest of the four municipalities that constitute the City of Copenhagen, the other three being Dragør, Frederiksberg, and Tårnby. Harlev is a former railway town in Aarhus Municipality in Denmark, with a population of 3,904 as of 1 January 2024. It is a suburb only 13 kilometres west of central Aarhus and is located at the Danish national road 15.
Smørumnedre is a town and suburban area situated in Egedal Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark and forms part of Copenhagen's urban area. The original village has merged with the neighbouring villages of Måløv in Ballerup Municipality and Jonstrup in Furesø Municipality to form an urban agglomeration with a population of 21,627. The small and relatively undisturbed village of Smørumovre is located about 500 metres to the west of Smørumnedre while Lille Smørum("Little Smørum") refers to a group of scattered farms to the south. The three localities are collectively referred to as Smørum.
Vordingborg is an old ferry town in Vordingborg Municipality in Denmark with around 12,000 (2022) inhabitants. Because of three large estates surrounding the town, a coherent urban development has not been possible, which is the reason why three satellite towns have emerged around the town. Within the ring of estates, the town has a population of 12,397, and a population of 18,286 when including the three satellite towns of Ørslev, Nyråd, and Stensved, situated 1, 3 and 5 kilometres, respectively, from the town of Vordingborg. Vordingborg Municipality (Kommune) has a population of 45,751.
