Telmatophilus is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are about seven described species in Telmatophilus. [1] [2] [3]
These seven species belong to the genus Telmatophilus:
Cryptophagidae is a family of beetles with representatives found in all biogeographic realms. Members of this family are commonly called silken fungus beetles and both adults and larvae appear to feed exclusively on fungi although in a wide variety of habitats and situations, such as rotting wood and shed animal fur and feathers. These beetles vary from about 1 to 11 millimeters long, and usually have an oval body shape with a slight "waist".
Curelius is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are at least two described species in Curelius.
Atomariinae is a subfamily of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are about 8 genera and more than 170 described species in Atomariinae.
Cryptophaginae is a subfamily of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are about 11 genera and more than 180 described species in Cryptophaginae.
Atomariini is a tribe of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are about 5 genera and at least 70 described species in Atomariini.
Henoticus is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are at least four described species in Henoticus.
Henotiderus is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are at least four described species in Henotiderus.
Sericoderus is a genus of minute hooded beetles in the family Corylophidae. There are about 12 described species in Sericoderus.
Pteryngium is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There is one described species in Pteryngium, P. crenatum.
Nitidula is a genus of sap-feeding beetles in the family Nitidulidae. There are more than 20 described species in Nitidula. Some species breed in carrion while others are associated with later stages of decay in mammalian corpses and can be used in forensic investigations.
Telmatophilus americanus is a species of silken fungus beetle in the family Cryptophagidae.
Salebius is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are at least four described species in Salebius.
Caenoscelis is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are about 19 described species in Caenoscelis.
Atomaria is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are more than 160 described species in Atomaria.
Myrmedophila is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There is one described species in Myrmedophila, M. americana.
Tisactia is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There is one described species in Tisactia, T. subglabra.
Renodesta ramsdalei is a species of silken fungus beetle in the family Cryptophagidae. It is found in North America.
Renodesta is a genus of silken fungus beetles in the family Cryptophagidae. There are at least two described species in Renodesta.
Stelidota is a genus of sap-feeding beetles in the family Nitidulidae. There are about 15 described species in Stelidota.
