The Thailand national rugby league team, or the Thailand Chang 13, is the national team that represents Thailand in rugby league. The Thailand national team is associated with TRL Rugby 13 National Rugby League (Thailand) Co,.Ltd, the organization that runs the yet-to-be-formed Thailand Domestic League and the yet-to-be-formed University Shield competitions. The organization is also trying to start the development of rugby league in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Games

The Thailand national team played their first international against the Hellenic Rugby League (Greece) at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Stadium at Ladkrabang, Bangkok on October 12, 2013. The result saw the Greek side winning 90–0 against the first-ever team consisting of only Thai-ethnicity players to play rugby league. The only other game played under the banner of 'Thailand' was played a year earlier by an expat team, including five Thai heritage players, under the name of 'Thailand Stars' and run out of Sydney, Australia.

On the June 1, 2014 the Thailand Stars played Latin Heat Rugby League in Windsor, Sydney. After a hard-fought match played in wet conditions, the game ended in a draw.

Thailand will host 3 internationals in 2014, two in Bangkok and the other in Pattaya City.

History of rugby league

The history of rugby league as a separate form of rugby football goes back to 1895 in Huddersfield, West Riding of Yorkshire when the Northern Rugby Football Union broke away from England's established Rugby Football Union to administer its own separate competition. Similar schisms occurred later in Australia and New Zealand in 1907. Gradually the rugby played in these breakaway competitions evolved into a distinctly separate sport that took its name from the professional leagues that administered it. Rugby league in England went on to set attendance and player payment records and rugby league in Australia became the most watched sport on television. The game also developed a significant place in the culture of France, New Zealand and several other Pacific Island nations, such as Papua New Guinea, where it has become the national sport.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Australian rugby league football club

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are a professional Australian rugby league team based in Redfern, a suburb of inner-southern Sydney, New South Wales. They participate in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and are one of nine existing teams from the state capital. They are often called Souths and The Bunnies.

United States national rugby league team

The United States national rugby league team represents the United States in international rugby league football competitions. The team is managed by the USA Rugby League (USARL).

Italy national rugby league team national sports team

The Italy national rugby league team represents Italy in rugby league football. With origins dating back to the 1950s and 1960s, the team has competed regularly in international competitions since 2008, when their current governing body, the Federazione Italiana Rugby League, was formed. They are currently ranked 13th in the RLIF World Rankings.

Japan national rugby league team

The Japan national rugby league team, nicknamed the Samurais, represents Japan in rugby league football. Japan have played some international competition since 1994. A regular domestic amateur competition has not been held in Japan for several years.

Army United F.C. association football club in Thailand

Army United Football Club is a Thai football club under the stewardship of Royal Thai Army based in the Din Daeng District of Bangkok and is one of the oldest continuing football club in Asia until they decided to discontinue the club in the end of season 2019 with 103 years old. The club was founded in 1916 and was known as Royal Thai Army until November 2010. Their home stadium is known locally as the Thai Army Sports Stadium and more widely known around Asian circles as the Royal Thai Army Stadium of which has been host to numerous international youth matches due to its central Bangkok location. The club play in red shirts with red shorts and red socks. Despite finishing bottom of the Thai Premier League in 2010 they managed to regain their top-flight status after winning Group B of the Thai League Play-off in 2011.

Singapore national rugby union team

The Singapore national rugby union team has yet to make its debut at the Rugby World Cup, though since the 1995 Rugby World Cup, Singapore have been participating in qualification competitions.

The Other Nationalities rugby league team regularly played international, and also county, rugby league football teams in Europe from 1904 to 1975. The team, created in 1904 to play England in the first ever rugby league international match, was at first made up of Welsh and Scottish players. However, as rugby league in England grew, and more players from other countries were brought over to England to play in the domestic competitions, Other Nationalities were later represented by players from Australia, Fiji, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa. The Other Nationalities team wore green shirts.

Southerners Sports Club

The Southerners Sports Club is an informal, non-commercial Bangkok-based club of expats and Thais. The Southerners field teams in Bangkok's local rugby, netball, touch rugby and cricket competitions, and also tour to neighbouring countries for regional-based sports tournaments.

Philippines national rugby league team

The Philippines national rugby league team represent the Philippines in international rugby league football matches. They were established in 2011. In their short history the Tamaraws have been relatively successful, being repeated Asian Cup winners and regularly participating in the Cabramatta International 9s rugby league tournament.

Martin Taupau is a professional rugby league footballer of Samoan Heritage, who plays as prop and lock for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in the NRL, and Samoa and New Zealand at international level.

Cricket Association of Thailand

Cricket Association of Thailand (CAT) is the national governing body of cricket in Thailand. It is the successor of the Thailand Cricket League, which was formed in 1971 and elected to ICC in 1995. Since 2005, it's one of the associate member of the ICC. The main aims of the organization is to promote and popularize Cricket throughout all the provinces of Thailand and to propagate the “Spirit of Cricket”.

The Hungary national rugby league team, known as the Magyar Bulls, represents Hungary in the sport of rugby league football. Making their debut against the Czech Republic in July 2011, they played their first ranked international against Greece in October 2013.

Latin Heat Rugby League

The Latin Heat Rugby League is a multi-national rugby league team focused on providing people of Central and South American residency or heritage a chance to play international rugby league and also help kick-start competitions in each individual Central and South American nation. Latin Heat was initially formed from Australian-based Latinos, but has since expanded to incorporate players from across Latin America, USA, UK and New Zealand.

The Philippine SuperLiga All-Stars is a volleyball selection team composing of players from the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). They have compete as a club team in international club tournaments outside the Philippines such as the AVC Club Volleyball Championship and the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.
