IBM developed ThinkVantage Technologies. They were included with the sale of their PC division to Lenovo Group in 2005.
In 2002 IBM heavily promoted these tools as part of its "Think" campaign, intended to instill confidence that IBM computers were easier to use and quicker to recover from disaster. [4]
In 2004 IBM provided two of the utilities, Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore and IBM System Migration Assistant as separately available software for use on non-IBM systems. [5]
Windows XP is a major release of Microsoft's Windows NT operating system. It was released to manufacturing on August 24, 2001, and later to retail on October 25, 2001. It is a direct upgrade to its predecessors, Windows 2000 for high-end and business users and Windows Me for home users, and is available for any devices running Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows Me that meet the new Windows XP system requirements.

Group Policy is a feature of the Microsoft Windows NT family of operating systems that controls the working environment of user accounts and computer accounts. Remote Desktop Services (RDS), known as Terminal Services in Windows Server 2008 and earlier, is one of the components of Microsoft Windows that allow a user to initiate and control an interactive session on a remote computer or virtual machine over a network connection. RDS was first released in 1998 as Terminal Server in Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition, a stand-alone edition of Windows NT 4.0 Server that allowed users to log in remotely. The ThinkPad T61 is a premium, business-class laptop computer manufactured by originally by IBM, which sold the rights to Lenovo. A ThinkPad, it was part of the T series, and was first manufactured in 2006. It was offered as a modular platform, allowing buyers to customize most all of its major features, including processor speed, amount of RAM and hard disk storage, screen size and resolution, quality and speed of video card, and additional capabilities such as a fingerprint reader, smart card reader, and Zip drive. The T61 came with the Windows Vista operating system.
The ThinkPad T43 is a laptop computer manufactured by IBM and later by Lenovo. It was released in October 2005 and discontinued in 2006.
